I wonder if Steven Smith knows how close he is to a record that very few Australians thought would ever be broken .He's got potentially one more test on this tour to break it

And that record is?

If he scores another test ton against India before he retires he'll be the first test cricketer to hit 10 or more centuries against 2 test playing nations.

It's interesting to note that he is shuffling long way across again. Looks a lot different from the last Australian summer

... Steve Smith's first 2 deliveries faced this morning: 4.. and then 4... and that's the century thank you very much.In the very first minute of the morning.

Most test centuries scored against India:

1.Steve Smith & Joe Root: 9
2.Ricky Ponting- 8
Most centuries in England (non English player):

Don Bradman - 11
Steve Smith/Steve Waugh - 7

Not out of the realms of possibility, especially with WTC tests adding an extra every few years against a potential team that may struggle in England.

Smith would honestly been a good chance of equalling this if he didn't get concussed last ashes. He was locked on for a century in that second test before he came back out to bat without being able to play a defensive shot and would have had 2 dig's to potentially get another in the 3rd test. Don't think hey'll make another 4/5 this tour unfortunately, and hey'll probably retire before the next ashes in england.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he was still playing in 4 years either, could go either way. Would “only” be 38.

I still haven't figured out how bowlers let Travis Head make 150+ when he clearly can't play ball on his hip

In my opinion you judge an attack by its collective strength and not one bowler , I remember Sourav Ganguly being 4th seamer on the 2007 tour with guys like RP Singh and Sreesanth taking the new ball with Zaheer Khan ..Definitely a far weaker attack
They atleast could swing the ball but yep this is one of the worst. 4/367 aussies as i type.

Whats that record?
Most runs scored at The Oval by a visiting batsman :

1.Sir Don Bradman
553 runs @ 138.25 in 4 matches

2.Steven Smith
501 * runs @ 125.25 in 4 matches

3.Alan Border
478 runs @ 79.66 in 4 matches

4.Bruce Mitchell
448 runs @ 112 in 3 matches

5.Rahul Dravid
443 runs @ 110.75 in 3 matches

Steve Smith is about 50 runs away from the Don's record at the Oval , it's taken 75 years for anyone to get this close..If Smith doesn't do it we might not see anyone break it in our lifetime.
