It's possible it's not even Neser anyway. Judged on yesterday's efforts, Dan Worrall would've been a useful call up too. But that bird has definitely flown now.

In fact, I'm wondering if he might actually qualify for the English team now with his British Passport.
England will never do that again after Darren Pattinson. They got torn apart for that selection

Neser is genuinely test quality while Worrall never has been
Worrall was probably the best at swinging the ball in the Shield for several years, but constant back injuries aside where I saw him play he simply didn't quite have the control of length, tending especially to drop short - and that was when he was picking up lots of wickets.

Yeah, realise that. I was more wondering who he actually qualified to play for now.

Saw an interview with him yesterday and he openly admitted to bowling utter rubbish in the first session before getting it right later on.

A gathering number? You see, that's simply not true. But we know they did cheat a few months later, the implication that it wasn't necessarily the first time they might have done so clearly makes a lot of Australians both defensive and uncomfortable.
I mean on here so you wouldn't know would you? There is no defensive or uncomfortable about it when you have no evidence. Or even if you did given England's own lurid history of cheating, gamesmanship, hypocrisy and lies.

**** me, are you still dragging this out? We've moved on.....Every response from you screams defensive and uncomfortable.

Mind you, can I just say I find it ****ing hilarious how many of you lot seem to think that whole 2005 series swung on a fella at first slip sucking on Murray Mints!!

Pretty telling how Flintoff was a decent test bowler for a few months in his career

Guy literally sucked without the mints

Agree with the first part

But the 2005 Ashes absolutely did swing (nice pun btw) on the ball tampering. That and McGrath stepping on a cricket ball, which was probably placed there by notorious cheat Garry Pratt

We’ll look at all these people supposedly moving on …

Social is right about Flintoff, despite a good game or 2 he had in 2009. Id also mention Simon Jones as another exceeding his abilities. The mints did achieve the desired result and Trescothick admits it and frankly molehill’s gaslighting as to its impact shows he’ll accept cheating as it was the only way his incompetent countrymen could win.

The contrast with his attitude over the unproven suggestion a bit of sandpaper grit is risible.

Find ball tampering such a weird subject. Who doesn't want to watch deliveries like Simon Jones against Clarke instead of roads where the bowlers are out of the game for days on end. 2005 ashes is the reason I fell in love with cricket I was 12 and oblivious to anything other than the enjoyment of the cricket on show.

I generally find a test match with less than a thousand runs scored with maybe 1 or two centurions better than 2000 runs and 5 centurions

Considering every team ever has used ball tampering to some effect over the years.

Why fans then lose the plot baffles once it exposed baffles me. Considering their own team has done it before.

A world of far more malicious deeds than a bottle cap, jelly babies, murray mints, surgical tape, suncream sweat applied to a bit of leather occurs on a daily basis and we just let it happen without question.

It’s true it’s a minor matter on a world scale but it’s not unimportant either. As would be any incident where a person obtains an advantage over another by cheating.

I prefer games that go the duration and try a players patience, resilience, endurance and skill. Games that show players devotion. Where wickets are hard won. If you want to see Jones to Clarke deliveries just bias the ball. Or prepare green tops. When it happens to often I think you’ll get sick of it. Whereas a ball that takes a wicket with the application of persistent skill appeals to me. Games that go five days over changing conditions, catering for all skills and providing challenges provoking strategies and emotions.

Neither do I have any resentment towards the result of 2005 despite what brah tediously asserts. It was a great series. If a team escapes the umpires detection then so be it. England deserved the series win.

My concern is with people who accept lies but deny truths. Or at least gas light them. So when someone insists that sandpaper was used in a series because it was used in the next then that isn’t proof. But when actual tampering was admitted idon’t try and play down its significance. That is my problem with molehill and really cricket is just the side issue.

We can add to the Murray mints running on and off the field to have showers after bowling spells; Cook captaining in the same manner; Gallipoli; the invasion of Australia and subsequent destruction of its indigenous population...the list goes on.

Wondering why Neser isn't taking 2nd innings wickets. He has 15 wkts @ 16.73 in the first innings but in his 2nd innings he has only 1 wkt @ 155.00 (currently 0-33 in this game with Worcs 7 down)

(van der Gugten has 10 wkts in first and 10 wkts in 2nd from same 4 games)

How did you forget Breaker Morant; Fromelles; Pozieres; Paschendale; the Bank of England doing us up the cake hole as soon as Wall Street crashed in 1929; taking credit for penicillin when it was all Florey’s work; the fall of Singapore; not wanting to give our troops back from a meaningless desert foray in North Africa as we were facing the threat of Japanese Domination at home; the Privy Council overturning the Bank Nationalisation Bill; the Lang and Whitlam sackings; the Palace letters; Thatcher; Britpop; Harry Potter; the Iraq War; Boris Johnson; the Tory Power Stance; the cheating **** Strauss taking a bounced “catch” off the late Phil Hughes in 2009? Shame on you.

These are just a few I can recall on the spur of the moment. What a woeful people. Seriously. A nation of 60 odd million atrocities

Edit: that terrible style of long ball soccer which nearly killed the sport just as England nearly killed cricket in the 50s and 60s with its tedious style of play which so accurately reflects its general populace

I love the Ashes. Even when Eng are getting royaly dicked over here I'm still gripped by it like no other series. Then I look on CW and see that SOC, TBB and GAS have upped their presence and a little piece of that love dies.

Edit:
Wasn't going to but chuck Burgeys name on the list too......WAC.

Edit 2:

We need a rude finger emoji.....who do I see to make that happen?
