Australian Domestic Season 2022-23

Moises just happens to declare the NSW inning way to late to realistically incentivize SA into the chase while NSW are winless but gives himself enough time for a little hit and just happens to declare after his career average passes 36. I refuse to believe that wasn't intentional on his end.

Haha 36 isn't exactly a milestone average, I doubt he did it for that specific reason. Probably did want to have a hit against a tired attack on a road though.

It's not but moises comes across like a bit of a **** of a captain and somoene who thinks alot about these minor statisical things. When he was captaining the sixers at the start of the 2021/22 BBL he took hayden kerr off when he was on a hatrick on debut and didn't give him another chance to bowl in the game so his mate o'keefe could have a go at a 5fer. He mentioned it in the post match of that game and was well aware of it.

I guess it's more likely to be true if he thinks this will be his last FC game, which it could well be.

Yeah given this season, you really had to declare once Hackney got his century. Selfish tstl.

"Moises for Aus captain" a @Shady Slim take that has aged like milk, unusually for those

Anyone know what the go with Tom Rogers is ATM? Had a breakout summer with the grades in the BBL and had a fantastic one day cup for TAS but TAS haven't played him in any red ball stuff since the shield resumed despite him averaging 23 with the rock in red ball.

Just feels weird that he's not getting a game but this random mid with a bunch of vowels in his name is.

Heard it suggested on comms a week or so back that he had seemingly decided to prioritise working on his limited overs skillset, although that did seem more speculative than a statement made with certainty

Hope that isn't the case myself, I remember when he did play most of those Shield games, bowling friendly season but he did look genuinely impressive throughout. Then had a few injuries and kinda drifted away for a bit until reemerging in the BBL

Tasmania need some seam bowling depth with Siddle likely back to Victoria and Bird closer to the end than the start, Rogers would fill that gap nicely. Another guy I wonder about is Gabe Bell, he seems to have pretty much dropped off the face of the planet for some reason, no idea why?

Is Siddle going back to Victoria?

I hope they don't select him.
Not officially confirmed per se, but seems highly probable from all I have seen and heard

Seems like they want another veteran presence in the squad with Boland in around the Australia setup. Not sure I see the need myself, the younger generation of Vic seamers have been going pretty well this season by themselves

Solid knock from street, ends on 102* as QLD and tas decide to shake hands at tea. Hopefully street can get himself a county gig offf the back of that knock, I still reckon there's a test opener in their somewhere despite his recent form.

Should be the end of Burns with Queensland able to pick from Street, Renshaw, Uzi and possibly Ben McDermott but who knows with the Bulls selectors

They picked burns over street at the start of the season despite the latter being in far better grade form. Some weird calls definitely come from them at times.

I imagine that McDermott would bat somewhere in the middle order if he does indeed go back to QLD, so therefore not directly fighting Street for a spot

I would definitely have him opening to start off with next year, that is for sure

I read that one as more being forced out by Renshaw going back to the top than anything else. They were always going to pick Burns anyway
