Of course it is, if you don't mind the BS that's T20 & the extended T20 BS in ODI - it is still by far the best game in the world. A mix of marathon, chess, hockey, tennis etc.any sane American will realise that cricket is the objectively superior game
obligatory note this is an oxymoronsane American
Not an admirer of many of the things that Warner has done but he’s been a great player for AustraliaHe's 36, clearly well past his best and had an abysmal Ashes Tour in 2019. Could that be it for his Test career?
Only recentlyI feel like there an attitude at least in Australian cricket that long-standing players must be allowed to go out on their own turn.
I left that it was a recent thing unsaid. Though Jones ain't a good example.Only recently
Border, Jones, Waugh, Healy, etc were all pushed
It’s all about moneyI left that it was a recent thing unsaid. Though Jones ain't a good example.
There also seems to be more hyperbole in backing failing players too. I think it might be because the old 'we're backing him to come good' line was increasingly seen through and the increasingly hyperbolic media full stop, but it seems to be the thing now to back yourself into a corner and say that alternatives are impossible.
In many of those cases (Healy especially) there were strong alternatives coming through. The problem with Warner is that no one is pushing him out. Khawaja is the same age, they really need to find two openers, not just one.Only recently
Border, Jones, Waugh, Healy, etc were all pushed
How about the transition side once Ashwin and Jadeja go?
No way, it’s going to be a disaster. This is probably the greatest spin duo of all time, at home. It will be a huge drop off. The chances of finding another tow witb similar enough consistency and skill NOT TO MENTION batting is basically low to none. I’m not saying there’s going to be no one who can’t win matches at home, but there will certainly be a drop off. Hopefully that’s 2-3 years away.Shouldn't be too bad. Obvious drop in quality to be expected but we have a couple of decent spinners in the shed. Be harder to replace their batting chops in India though; hopefully by then the top order would look different and bedded in.
I say let’s have it at the gabba and send the B team.We literally beat Australia in Australia with a patchwork team, of course we have a chance against them in England.
Really need to stop crying before the actual game, and tbh beating them in conditions more suitable to them would be far far sweeter than doing it in UAE or wherever.
I want to see an England vs Australia wtc final in Hyderabad so bad. And just as a joke, prepare a pitch necessitating three spinners in each side.Tbh all WTC finals should be at Lords
I'd be keen to watch some neutral games played in India. England vs. New Zealand would be interesting for theI want to see an England vs Australia wtc final in Hyderabad so bad. And just as a joke, prepare a pitch necessitating three spinners in each side.
This is somewhat interesting. The no.1 Team on WTC table should host the final . And the other finalist should decide the venue imo .
Sydney. It equally disfavours all bowlingCuriously, which ground would be the most balanced pitch around the world, for such events?
Why?I want to see an England vs Australia wtc final in Hyderabad so bad. And just as a joke, prepare a pitch necessitating three spinners in each side.
clearly wants to see some Dom Bess grenades out thereWhy?
