*Official* Australia in India 2023

India shouldn’t repeat the mistake which Australia did in their home seasons vs WI . We should play next 2 Tests in WTC Final condition. Otherwise it is IPL and straight to WTC final .
I hope India keeps their foot on Australia's neck. Give them a taste of their own medicine. Their ****y media/fans had all that schitt to say after easy (expected) wins vs RSA/WI at home.

This was the problem, really. Having a plan is fine, though I don't think sweeping was ideal for this track as witnessed by most of the batsmen who looked comfortable not really doing so sweeping (Khawaja did it in the first dig but even those were mostly reverse sweeps, the pitch had a bit more bounce in it). The problem was premeditating and forgetting the whole "play the ball on its merits" thing. They clearly went into the game with a premeditated plan to sweep - they even said as much - and did it even when it was insane. Steve Smith missing the ball by a foot should have been a clear sign that they should at least have a look first.

Renshaw I think isn't good enough. I'm not super convinced Green is going to be the guy for these tracks but he'd slot straight in on his bowling alone (not to mention his fielding, which is missed when trying to tie batsmen down). Kuhnemann was less impressive as the game went on. Otherwise, this isn't a case of selection overhauls being needed or any fancy tricks - they really need to simplify the game a lot more. Play and defend the line of the ball with a straight bat. Don't push hard at the ball. Don't sweep from the stumps unless you're well set. All fundamentals of batting on slow pitches that seems to have gone out the window for increasingly more elaborate premeditation.
Aus only lose because someone shares fox cricket articles on the team WhatsApp group imo

Questions really have to be asked about Cummins captaincy with the bowling changes these past 2 tests. No green makes it hard, but kunhenann bowling more overs then Murphy after he took 7fer last game is insane. Murphy regularly bowis with the new rock in the white ball stuff, no reason he couldn't have taken it here. Kunhenann has bowled 5 more overs across the game and gone at 4+ while taking less wickets then Murphy whos gone at 3. Also just kept bowling the spinners from both ends when shami and Axar where at the crease and clearly having no trouble with them. Would be interested to know how many tests Cummins had captained without green in the side pre this series. Having another guy who's a genuine front line quality seamer to rotate things around with is a massive benifit.

Over what time frame? Overall, or over the last ten years or so? Overall, I'll still give it to Australia. Over a 10 year period it's probably India. I'm using 10 years because if I'm not mistaken, that's the last time India lost a series at home : back in 2012.
It doesn't matter what time frame.

No team I think has approached the level of invincibility that India has just displayed at home.

They've just convincingly beaten a world no.1 side with the best fast bowler in the world and the strongest batting lineup in the world, while their own top order is in bad form. A near certain series win from here is a great achievement.

Australia in the 2000s were supremely dominant but even they occasionally drew series against NZ and India and they never shellacked a team of such quality.

They shellacked South Africa and South Africa were clear cut the second best team in the early 2000s. Also, I clearly remember Australia white washing decent India, Pakistan, poor WI team back to back.

Still, I'll agree this India team ie from 2012 to now has been the most dominant at home.

Our media is also extremely garbage. So I won’t be complaining about their media lol .

I want our team to win atleast 1 silverware . Otherwise we would be like SA of 90s ( a very good team with nothing to show )

The bowling wasn't and isn't the issue. The batting has been. And I clearly remember that during Australia's home series people were talking up Australia's batting and I was like no. Their batting looks good on paper but outside Australia (except for Smith) it's questionable. And even now that Smith is being dominated, we see how truly woeful they can be.

I respectfully disagree. In no way shape or form are India like RSA of the 90s. India starts off as heavy heavy favorites afaic in all series at home. Away about even vs the so called SENA teams and heavy favorites vs the rest. And all this at a time when their batting has been sucking and Bumrah has been injured. Imagine if the batting was firing on all cylinders and Bumrah was playing consistently.

As for the media, I don't see Indians as condescending vs weaker teams as the English and especially the Australian media.

Cummins hasn’t been great but the batting is the real issue here full stop
