*Official* Australia in India 2023

Feel like the commentators are right that Australia overdid the sweeps but I think the kind of sweeps they were trying were dumb too. Against Jadeja, trying to constantly sweep conventionally square/in front of square is really hard. Surely against him if you do want to sweep, the paddle would be a better option. Try and use his pace against him. Even for the reverse sweep your hands need to go through all kinds of contortions before the ball gets to you, the paddle gives you so much more time.
Smith's sweep was so bad and so ill-advised I basically never want him to play the shot again.

Phew we won that and batted well in the fourth innings. Australia were ahead for most of this match so in that sense this game feels a lot like the Adelaide 36/9 one.

Australia gave this test away tbh. The Axar-Ashwin partnership was the obvious turning point, but they didn't bowl badly there. The batting today was harebrained, unforgivable nonsense. If they set us even 150-170 here, it'd have been really tough.
nah they needed to set us 300 and even that wasn't likely enough

Can’t think of another time where the world’s best bowler hasn’t bowled in these circumstances

Lost the plot
Not really, they always needed to open with spin at both ends after what happened in Australia's innings. Maybe there was an argument to give Cummins a few at one stage, but you honestly think he would have been as threatening as the spinners on this wicket?
