Not really, they always needed to open with spin at both ends after what happened in Australia's innings. Maybe there was an argument to give Cummins a few at one stage, but you honestly think he would have been as threatening as the spinners on this wicket?
More than Kuhnemann , yeah for sure.

The funny thing is that if you offered Australia a six wicket loss at the start of the match most would’ve been OK with it. Yet this feels more embarrassing than even Nagpur.

when a side coached by Darren Lehmann of all people knows how to play the conditions better…..

Comprehensive again. Didn’t expect to win this series before it started but this test probably a bit more disappointing than the first tbh given it was in the balance heading into the third innings and they came into Nagpur with zero prep

Some really inept batting. Don’t think India even bowled anywhere like their best in the second dig, but they didn’t need to. The Aus batting approach second dig wasn’t even the same as the one they adopted two days ago when they made 260. Was a terrible plan and woefully executed.

Well played India, comprehensive in the end, but Australia didn't help themselves this afternoon and in blowing what should have been a 50-70 run first innings lead.

Phew we won that and batted well in the fourth innings. Australia were ahead for most of this match so in that sense this game feels a lot like the Adelaide 36/9 one.
Yeah. But 36/9 had an air of inevitability about it in that the batsmen didn't do much wrong. Aus effort today was the most disgusted I've been at any side's batting in Indian conditions in recent memory.

Yeah but once Rohit went it was certainly worth him having a bowl for an over or two. He’s not exactly your average trundler

That second innings collapse has to be blamed on Head and this whole Bazball lark. Don't think if they batted normally they wouldnt have matched their first innings score.

I think the batsmen should take some blame but given they were all trying to sweep it had to be some sort of a thinktank led decision - those responsible need a reality check

Way more

Australia has been a complete rabble since the team was announced & today was another example

This is a bad take imo. He played orthodox strokes and barely swept at all. His was one of the few wickets where you could say he was undone by a good ball he could do nothing about

Yeah, if last night's tonk hadn't been successful they'd probably have grinded today and got to 200ish. Would've been game on then

don't think they had a plan and were reacting to shock and the sweep was their crutch vs spin
