*Official* Australia in India 2023

maybe Agarwal’s now deserving of a 2nd chance now that he is back in form to see if he fixed his ****ed up technique. Shaw shouldn’t be in contention until he starts performing consistently against good attacks instead of just making the majority of his runs against hapless Plate teams

As per a report in Fox Cricket, Australia had asked the pitch to be kept as is so that the tourists could put in some more practice and be better prepared for the 2nd match of the series.

Australia had reportedly asked staff to leave the center wicket and training pitches as they were so that the tourists could practice on Sunday afternoon. However, they were informed that the pitches had already been watered on Saturday night.

Australian coach Andrew McDonald, as per Fox Cricket, told SEN that the extra session was an attempt for the players to understand the wicket more.
"It's pretty clear isn't it, their intent with the surfaces they want to play on. We were expecting that coming in so as I said before, we've been really clear on what we expected," he said.

"When we got here we got exactly that. They're not naughty boy nets today (the planned session). We've got a big squad of 17 players so there are different people on different training programs.

The article is rubbish for various reasons. It's just media being media and gaining cheap traction by headlining a former player sharing his nonsensical opinion.

1. It's not entirely clear if the ground staff have rejected Australian team request or they actually watered the pitch before request was made. So there is no clarity on that aspect.

As I said the article is based on a former players opinion.

2. Ian Healy and the media should have their primary focus on their team and how pathetic they were in capitulating like a bunch of amateurs.

3. If they were so concerned about the conditions questions should be asked as to why Australia didn't bother playing a warm up game prior to the start of the series.

If there's one thing I have learnt during this series, fox sports is basically ****-posting in roughly the same manner as you would expect a low tier troll to do.

Here's what they tweeted about the match venue shift - "BREAKING: The third India Test has been moved to a new venue ... where Ravichandran Ashwin averages 12.50 with the ball."

There's little reason to take anything they say seriously when literal anonymous users on a fairly isolated forum are more gracious than them.

Why are Australia so focused on this pitch narrative lmao? You have 2 of the best bats in the world and India have a batting lineup with a 2-6 that's being held together by sticky tape, just stfu and play the game

They desperately want to beat India this time imo because India won 2 Test series in Aus consecutively . So when you get desperate you will start doing things , which you won’t do normally.

I fully expect heated exchange between 2 sides in one of the Test matches .

This exact thing happened last time AUS toured India though? Didn't it? Jarrod Kimber was talking about this on a podcast recently, Aus where internally and externally complaining about pitch conditions till they got to the 4th test.

Lehmann was the coach last time with Smith as the captain.. the team mentality was quite different then compared to wokePat now

It wouldn't be an India Australia series without some acrimony and controversy. Not always a bad thing IMO at least.

Tbf if you’re familiar with that outlet you wouldn’t take anything it says seriously. The headlines and articles are purely for click bait. It’s like a sporting Daily Mail.
