*Official* Australia in India 2023

International Coach
A bit odd that India are utterly spoilt for choice with batsmen and bowlers, but their keeper-bat backup seems fairly mediocre by modern standards – the country's immediate keeping depth would imo be worse than England, NZ, RSA, Pakistan, and perhaps Aus / even SL.

they'll likely play Kishan in 2nd test if Bharat fails twice- who is in the squad. He averages 46 in ODI with a double hundred in Dec and keeps wicket in ODI. strange decisions being made by selectors in this match on both sides.

credit to Murphy, he's comfortably outbowled Lyon this game so far. Seems to get more work on the ball, and has been very accurate with his around the wicket line. I thought it was odd giving him a debut over Agar/Swepson, especially since they both spin it the other way, but he's looked the part. Good prospect.

Nah, Bharat is the right call. His overall career numbers aren't flash but he's been a good performer in FC and India 'A' redball games for a couple of seasons now, and is a quality keeper. He was the reserve to Pant for a while, and so it's good he's been given the chance when the spot opens up.

Kishan's FC record is not flash either, and allowing him to jump the queue on the basis of white ball form would have been a mistake. Look what's happened to SKY here.
