Whatever it takes!!!
Just thinking about this the other day, I dont think I have seen a more limited great batsman than Virat in tests. There are so many shots and options and parts of the ground he never plays or cannot play to. Bowlers should always find it easier to limit him.

A good argument to not have him in an ATG XI I reckon - McGrath would have him for lunch.

He never sweeps does he? Unusual for a SC player in particular. It opens up a lot of the ground when it's played well.

He hardly sweeps or cuts. Basically has very few scoring options behind square apart from nips, tucks, glances and the odd pull/hook shot. He was not always like this though. Guy could play every shot in the book but when he went into his peak around 2016, he shelved so many of these shots and now he is a bit of a sitting duck to most good test bowlers coz he can hardly get away.

Rohit, Pujara and the modern batsmen around them all play the sweep. Even Rahane used to. It was just Virat for some reason.
