The Stars, staring down the barrel of a massive win to boost their NRR and give themselves a (very) outside chance of playing finals, decide to go a run a ball for four overs to minimise their own chances of achieving anything.
Agree those strike rates from Cartwright & Rogers of 113 & 114 are poor when an easy victory is in sight & you need to improve NRR.

On a wider point about domestic T20 comps, there needs to be more cooperation between boards when scheduling them.

I've enjoyed the BBL this year but it's pissed me right off that some players have jumped ship to the SA20 halfway through.

Having 2 high profile tournaments at the same time helps neither comp.

and the Super Smash (two more T20 leagues sprouting up in the NZ summer holidays really kills any chance for NZC to earn #money from a franchise league btw – two-test series fuhever!)

Marnus definitely and maybe Renshaw. But Khawaja would be one of the best bats in the Big Bash. He's a gun T20 player, do you not remember his work for the Thunder?
Uzzie is a fine player but he’s not a top guy in T20s as the game has changed

Career s/r in 130s doesn’t cut it

SA is affiliated with IPL and UAE has many IPL owners

India would be happy to kill off the BBL
