You guys are forgetting how big of a difference a competent keeper makes. Should do much better with a first choice pace attack (a fit Shaheen tbh) and Rizwan behind the stumps, even ignoring the ghastliness of these roads. The comms try to pitch him as an Ajantha Mendis type but he's really more of a classic leg spinner a la Macgill IMO.

Abrar is a mystery spinner who almost presents the front of his hand to you so you know how he's holding the ball.

It's a bit odd and I think he's got talent to be a normal legspinner because he can land it but his unorthodox element almost hampers him.

Nauman is far less ***y and old but his bowling looks pretty serviceable given the mega highway he bowled on and he can also bat.

Shaheen is a huge loss because he's the second best quick in Asia but I don't think Hamza or Naseem have disgraced themselves. They're good bowlers and on better decks would get some reward.

Hasan has been a bit flat.

@Howe_zat mate you're in England aren't you? Britain and NZ are just about the only countries these days you can trade live without having to go
through the dreaded process of telephone betting, take advantage of that because it's an enormous edge, never mind the fair prices.

Not really, if there was it would of been pretty short sighted.
You’ve gotta remember that Blundell didn’t have a huge body of work to fall back on when he took over from Watling. His turn as an opener had fizzled out, and he’d only played a couple tests as keeper prior to that. Then he was execrably bad in India and in the first test v Bangladesh. They brought Fletcher into the squad for that SA series and if Blundell had failed I think Fletcher might’ve gotten a start in the second test (he was having a great season for Canterbury at the time). Instead he scored a nice downhill 90 and has never looked back. Hats off.

Are you referring to me? I don’t normally share my bets at all, when I talk about the odds I’m intending for it to be context for my opinion.
I don't see how you got the impression I was talking about you from that context. RTB's comment was clearly directed at ashley bach, who is always talking about his latest flutters.

NZ TAB have to a pay a dividend to each nz sporting code, based on volume bet on that sport. By law. Dont know about other countries laws.

Dont appreciate posters trying to push other posters to register with other outfits who dont put anything back in to the sport.

The thing is, the gap between a draw and a win is exactly the same as between a draw and a loss. I mean, for a negative person like me losing is always more bad than winning is good, but basic logic says they’re equal, two sides of a coin. Why then do commentators always talk as though going for the win is the obviously right thing to do? Winning test matches means nothing if losing them means nothing.
They probably haven't thought about it this deeply but if you accept that humans are extremely loss averse (not controversial at all) then to counteract this tendency you could bias your decisions towards aggression

Man I've missed arguing pedantic esoteric **** with TH
