So Shakeel had 100 off 241 and is now 124 off 336. Did the pitch suddenly liven up or is he going super average protect on everybody?

A couple of balls have kept really low, and there is some significant turn starting to happen out of the rough. I’d give the chances of a result at about 50%.

Pleasant surprise to get up this morning and see Ajaz took two wickets and Sodhi devoured the tail like an ouroboros. That ball from Sodhi that rolled was a shock too.

We're going to need to bat well day 4 to score quickly and set up a target without risking a lollapse.

He legit got to 100 and just started blocking everything. I suspect it may have had something to do with the 100 coinciding with Sarfaraz getting out and the awareness that they were 1 wicket away from a looooong tail

Ye I can't see how Shakeel is getting any stick here. He is still there not out and has seen his team from 140-3 to 409-9. The tail has been woeful the last 2 series if he gave it away after sarfraz or even before they would have been all out ages ago and miles behind

Just seen the sarfraz wicket and imo the worst decision I've ever seen. Given by a 3rd umpire its even worse. Am I missing something? On what basis was it given out?

I thought it was the wrong decision, but I think maybe you are missing something too? He put his foot back in the crease but then lifted it again. The question was whether the bails were already off before he lifted his foot. His foot had definitely ‘started lifting’ when the bails came off but I didn’t think you could confidently say nothing was still on the ground.

….and I’m guessing you probably looked at the freeze frame of when the bails came off and thought you were just looking at a guy with his foot on the ground…which is exactly why I don’t think it was out

Yep I paused when they first lit up and the spikes looked well down and its not like they were close to the crease ( 6 inches behind, not that it really matters) but another good reason to just give not out when there is so much doubt.
If was given not out, that appeal genuinely would never had been mentioned ever again.
Imo.

Whatever it takes!!!
I think it was the wrong decision with respect to Sarfraz but I also some conversations about whether it should be allowed, coz they did change the rule for the run out stating if you made your crease and then lifted your foot or bat, you can't be out. Dont think that should apply for stumpings coz overbalancing as you play your stroke, is a thing.
