Funny how at full speed it doesn’t look out at all. Naked eye doesn’t register the foot lifting until clearly after the bails are off.

I was wondering why the third umpire was taking so long over that when it seemed there wasn't clear evidence his foot was off the ground. Bold call to give it out.

Also re ajaz it's painfully obvious what his problem is - he can't bowl his stock ball at 85-90kph. Even when he beats them in flight its easy to play him off the surface. Bracewell isn't as good a bowler but his faster stock ball is harder to bully on this surface
Yeah exactly….I just don’t know if he physically can, given his small stature and non-existent run up and just the mechanics of his action, basically. Waqar in particular kept saying he should be bowling faster, but the only way he can get above like 82kph is to bowl an arm ball.

Also he went to split screen and on the second angle his foot looked pretty clearly on the ground. It’s like he found evidence of lifting but not actually…lifted.

I hate going into whataboutery, but did everyone feel there was sufficient evidence to overturn the lbw decision two balls earlier? On the exact frame which the spike appeared, seemed hard to tell if the ball had definitely touched the bat.

Don’t have a major problem with it being overturned, but the evidence on which the stumping decision was given seemed no more marginal than the evidence for the lbw being reversed, if that makes sense.

Absolutely. What was inconclusive about it? Definite spike on the correct frame with no visible gap between bat and ball and no pads or anything else in play. Pretty regulation?

Thought there may have been a tiny gap in that frame, maybe just enough to be inconclusive? Could have not seen it properly i guess.

Agree with TH that yes enough evidence of edge and wouldn't have been surprised if hawkeye had it completely missing legstump either. Always quite legside-ish. Basically an old-fashioned pre-DRS Out decision earned by swaying the umpire with a huge and emphatic appeal.

Though props to Mitchell for summoning that up. Looks like he should be bowling outswingers but ball is reversing in instead and speed a little more slippery than expected. The Astle comparison is a good one.

Though the weird one on snicko was on the stumping, it showed nothing when the ball hit Sarfaraz's back leg.

Probably just a fake snicko, like the fake speed gun.

The ball was a fraction past the bat (or right at the back edge) at the exact moment of the frame with the snick, so it’s unlikely the frame reflected the exact moment of the edge. I don’t think there was a visible gap though as the ball passed the bat.

I'd give Ajaz a trundle about now. These two look less inclined to attack him than the previous bats; could give him the opportunity to settle into a spell and get some rhythm.
