England test tour of Pakistan December 2022

Congrats England. Amazing effort. So Pakistan has lost 4 consecutive tests (including 3rd test v Aus) at home. Has that ever happened before? Will be interesting if a modified version of England's approach and tactics in Pakistan will be implemented by NZ.
Doubt it. Apart from Mitchell, and to a lesser extent Blundell, all of the batsmen are conservative run accumulators.

Have Pakistan ever been whitewashed at home before?

Can't have happened too many times before in any event.

Just seems incredible we've won more tests over there in the last three weeks than in the previous 61 years of trying.

I couldn't recollect any sc team whitewashed at home by a sena team before. Has it happened before or is this the first?

Happened in Sri Lanka the last two times England faced them (though the second time around was a two Test series)

Must've also happened to Bangladesh a few times, and Sri Lanka in their early days.
Not sure about Sri Lanka actually, at least if you discount one Test series which you really should. I don't think the "West" toured them much until the 90's and by that point they were a decent enough side at home.

True re: Bangladesh though - England did it at least twice. Australia once and I think South Africa and New Zealand did at least once too. Then again, they were two Test series - doing it in 3 or more Tests is way more impressive.

Apart from the 0-3 score line, itself unheard of in Pakistan, the whole series already feels unreal. Did we really score 500 on the first day of the series? Because that's just ridiculous. I have no idea what our overall scoring rate was for the series as a whole, but aren't we supposed to go at about 2 an over in these parts? How on earth did 3 of our quicks end up averaging 19, 20 and 21 on these wickets? Did Will Jacks really take six wickets to give us a vital first innings lead at Rawlpindi? What is Harry Brook on and can I have some please? And obviously England just don't do 18 year old leg-spinners taking a match-turning 5-for on debut. Just astonishing, the whole thing.

Yeah it's all hard a bit hard to digest tbh.......not sure about the rest of the Eng fans here but id pretty much settled in on a prolonged period of mediocrity (again) just a few months ago. Yet here we are looking like a serious test side that a very good team is going to have to play very well to beat.

I dont care at all for this term "bazball" because I'm convinced there is more nuance to all of this than just go out there and play T20 cricket........as you just said, wtf are Eng quicks doing with performances like that on the sub cont? It just doesn't ****ing happen!

Not a chance Australia win over here next summer. Not a chance
I'll second this. The only Ashes series of recent times in Eng where I was absolutely confident was 2013.......as things stand right now I'm that confident for next year.

Rehan Ahmed must be 12th man
