*Official* Australia vs South Africa -2022/3

Nah they will go with 5 bowers.

Australian pitches are clearly flatter than South African pitches. They go with 4+1 at home, even more reason to go 4+1 in Aus.
By default Australian pitches are definitely flatter, but with the amount of weather around this year there shouldn't be any assumptions made, you could see some of them turning out very very green. Last summer's pitches were as bowler-friendly as I can recall here in a long time.

This is either a massive green top or a bowl first wicket. Either way, D1 will be fun.

I'd have thought they might give it one last cut beforehand, though the creases are already marked.

If Aus put a green top out it would be such alpha thinking… lots of balls and little intelligence. I suspect that will be cut back quite a bit before toss tomorrow.

a flat deck with usual 5th day wear, lasting 5 days, is the ideal for test cricket.

This was enjoyable
They did a similar episode with Smith-Kohli before BG Trophy 2020.

So, the purpose of this interview is to have a controversy free series after last 2 series between SA-Aus were full of controversy

Problem is that the controversy is usually started by media fartbrains who can't subsist on anything else. My bet is after today they bring out their cattle prods and start prodding.

I just found out how tall Jansen is listening to Starc talk before. 207cm...**** me dead! He'd bump his head on our door frames.

He's a handy bowler. Looking forward to seeing him have a crack.

be interested to see how seth effrikan media is covering this - australian coverage so far is taking the probably correct stance of "ball tampering was bad though it was a long time ago and the teams are very different now, it could well be in the background but the cricket will be the focus"

away media would have every right to approach it as like "let's destroy these tampering cheats"

Good thing about this series, compared to previous SA ones, is we have Marnus to beat down the language barrier.
