Not all the situations we've been in have been that dire though. None of this lot have been able to construct an innings. They look clueless
Okay come on, this is ridiculous. How good do you expect people to be when India has primarily played in bowling friendly conditions since 2019?

So India have five seamers in the squad for a test series in Bangladesh while they went in with four seamers in the T20 WC squad in Australia. ?

At the moment, sure. No one is noticeably better than him, but it's not like the team management hasn't been perfect with opener selection either. I'm sticking with KL for consistency, but let's not forget how quickly Shaw got ditched just because the pink ball moved around a lot and how quickly Gill got in. I have no problems if KL isn't picked but it's not like he's standing out at either ends of the spectrum with regards to Indian openers.
I personally would have Rohit and Gill as my first choice with Shaw the young prodigy learning from the experienced guys by being a part of the squad .

Gill has been a bit of a one hit wonder so far in international cricket.
Ironically he looked flawed when he was making runs in Australia too. I actually think he's looked better while he's been failing.

I'm a big fan but it's been an odd and disappointing start to his career.

He's done pretty well for India A lately too. If they want three spinners he deserves his place.
Would have been nice to have a look at a new face tho. Kuldeep's a known quantity.

Kuldeep being a wrist spinner is what's keeping his career alive really. Don't have any better options for red ball cricket. Chahal seems to have given up FC cricket entirely.

Lol Gill. Gifted wicket that. Pitch is an absolute Rawalpindi. No pace, bounce, spin, seam or swing on offer.

Yeah srsly cnerd, I get having multiple loyalties at least stick to one team with the first person plural in a series thread ffs
Tbf that post reads perfectly fine as a non-Indian fan who just wants to see Shaw get a chance in International cricket

You know Shaw debuted before Gill right? And actually did fine in NZ before getting booted.
Yep , just that the selection policy is such a circus that Shaw being in the squad would be the first step to reintegration with Rohit Sharma nearing the end of his career .

The point you made was fine but your use of the word "our" was confusing in the context of an Bangladesh-India thread there.

Yep. Both him and Shaw need to fix their attitude. Immensely talented but look least bothered to put in the hard yards.
