Wrong thread but I stand by it.

Hoping at least for the series that SA don't disrespect the glue of Elgar and actually squeeze some juice out of the meat while batting it off.

Brisbane is Seth Afrika's best chance I reckon. Especially if the pitch turns out to be a trampoline like the one last year against England

2-1 Australia. Not quite as pessimistic as Starfighter here, but I would be absolutely astonished if South Africa don't jag at least one Test

For the record I see his prediction as VASTLY more likely than an Australia whitewash.

3-0, just because as much as i love seth effrika's bowling attack i trust our batting on our pitches and i don't trust theirs one iota

South Africa always seem to lift and have someone pull a miracle performance from their arse when touring Australia.
Yeah Duminy and Faf come to mind massively here.

Think it'll come down to the pitches. If they're flat I don't think SA will hurt us much because their batting is so poor. If they're greener though then it becomes a bit of a lottery, and the chances of someone pulling a Duminy 08/Faf 12/de Kock 16 and hold their batting well enough to keep their bowlers competitive become a lot higher.

We haven't beaten them here in a live Test in 17 years. That is a big mental barrier that the side needs to cross.

Duminy twice in fact - '08, in that big partnership with Steyn, and in that huge partnership with Elgar in '16. And he did **** all of note in between.

There's also moments of mental fragility - our collapse from 1/158 to 244 AO in that Perth test is too painful to relive. And I don't think we're out of the habit of ceding strong positions.
