*Official* Australia vs West Indies - Frank Worrell Trophy 2022

What makes the Chase thing worse is that Holder and Mayers exist which should really give the team the balance it needs to select its best spinner in every game. I don't even think the selectors would say they really think Chase is that.
You can see why many of us are calling Haynes out for insularity? It really is an inexplicable decision.

Obviously a great couple of days from Australia but it was good to see the W Indies openers show some real spirit and fight.

As an England fan, the form of Smith and Labuschagne had a horrible familiarity to it, particularly Smith.

I'm sure the Aussies will go on to win but I hope the W Indies make a real game of it.

Test cricket really needs a strong W Indies team - it would be such a boost to the game

West Indies struggling while Chanderpaul makes it to the end of the day not out. Sounds familiar.

Some strange bowling selection during the 1st session today by Brathwaite.

I thought Smith would score big, could see he was finding some form again in the ODI's against England, he didn't disappoint.

Agreed. Hopefully this can continue today.
We had two (IMO) contrasting double centuries in the Oz innings. Marnus continues to ride a wave of good fortune while Steve gave a masterclass. I am particularly impressed with the modifications he has made to his stance.

The modern short leg position is a sad joke. Look how far back they stand. It’s just short midwicket. Grow a pair and get on the edge of the deck ffs

Very good spell straight up from Cummins, to the surprise of absolutely no one. He could bowl like this to Brathwaite for a month and he won’t be good enough to hit one.

Honestly, if you’re 1.5 decks-width back at “short leg”, why even do you need a lid?

I didn’t watch a ball of Tagenarine batting last night, the first ball I saw this morning he nicked off.

The comms are being a bit mean to Nkrumah Bonner, who has done a good job for the Windies since he came into the side. He’s more of a “jigsaw piece” as Skull put it, than Chanderpaul is.
