Street playing but not opening is pretty terrible imo
I prefer it to Street not playing, but yeah.Street playing but not opening is pretty terrible imo
Maybe he doesn't believe in climate action. There has to be an anti-Street agenda at CA for some reason
Is he a bit of a SOK-like personality
How did Renshaw go when he played in the SC? I can't remember if he acquitted himself decently or even if he's generally regarded as being decent in spinning conditions.I prefer it to Street not playing, but yeah.
It seems the Aus selectors are considering Renshaw seriously as a backup opener and he did just make a double ton so fair enough, but seriously why does Burns have to open? He's clearly not going to play Tests again and he started his FC career as a #3-4 anyway - he's basically a makeshift opener himself.
He did pretty well in India last time around, especially early in the series. Faded a bit later on iircHow did Renshaw go when he played in the SC? I can't remember if he acquitted himself decently or even if he's generally regarded as being decent in spinning conditions.
Far better than most people expected. How did Renshaw go when he played in the SC? I can't remember if he acquitted himself decently or even if he's generally regarded as being decent in spinning conditions.
He will be till after the Ashes I reckon. Don't disagree with what you said but don't think they have the balls to drop WarnerAs long as Head doesn't play in India we've done something right
Also Renshaw should play ahead of Warner over there, if Warner is even still playing then
Yeah when you bat in binary for so long that you get dropped from your Shield team and only make a return in a totally different position, I'm really allergic to the idea that you should be considered for a Test spot in the position you got dropped failing in... even if you score some runs for a while.I think very little of Renshaw picking and choosing where he bats, definitely motivated by personal ambition as opposed to the team's needs, but if he keeps making runs up top absolutely he should come back into the considerations of the Australian selectors
Worth noting today was the only other time he's passed 50 in the Shield this year apart from the double ton, although he did make runs in the PM's XI (pretty much Australia A though) game.
Not sure I would go that way myself, although I have warmed to the idea a bit compared to when he first moved back up
Agree with pretty much every word of this oneYeah when you bat in binary for so long that you get dropped from your Shield team and only make a return in a totally different position, I'm really allergic to the idea that you should be considered for a Test spot in the position you got dropped failing in.. even if you score some runs for a while.
See: Finch, A and Burns, J.
I rated Renshaw as an opener but getting dropped and then moving to 5 should have been a death warrant for his Test opening aspirations for at least 3 years IMO.
Good enough reason for exclusion I thinkMaybe he doesn't believe in climate action.
Was in the most recent U19WC. From memory he went alright, but certainly didn't have the sort of hype around him like Wyllie for example didI barely even know who Kellaway is and I read every scorecard in the country. He's killing us here ffs.
Yeah he opened IIRC? I didn't think he was close to Shield fast-tracking at the time though and he probably just turned the game for Vic here. Was in the most recent U19WC. From memory he went alright, but certainly didn't have the sort of hype around him like Wyllie for example did
