There will be times that it goes horribly wrong yes but you can't deny that England have unlocked a very important truth .this isn’t going to work on pitches that have more for bowlers like South African ones. I’d wait before calling for the demise of the blockers
Runrates in Test Cricket are generally low because teams choose to do so, because scoring around 2.5-4 runs per over is how it's generally been done in Test cricket for a hundred years .. England took a step back and said hang on , we play white ball cricket and even against the best teams in the world there's an expectation to score at above 5 runs an over in ODI cricket or 8-10 runs an over in T20 regardless of who the bowlers are or what the pitch is doing, so why can't we do it in Tests ? ..
