I am going to call it for Murali at 11-5 against Warne.

1. Tendulkar
2.
3. Viv
4. Kohli
5. ABD
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.
11. Murali

Now we are looking at the choice for your two main pace bowlers for the ODI ATG XI.

What? Pollock gets picked over Mcgrath on bowling alone. Better economy, similar average, more longevity + only thing he's worse is in S/R

Pollock and Garner are locks in ATG ODI XI. The question is who are u gonna pick between Hadlee, Akram, Mcgrath for the 3rd seamer.
McGrath has a nearly 2.5 point better average and you call them similar, and a 0.2 worse ER and you call Pollock better. McGrath way ahead in SR.

McGrath was MOS of a WC. Featured in three successful WC campaigns.

McGrath has the best stat case of any modern fast bowler.

McGrath played 250 games, it's not like he doesn't have a big enough sample.

Why did you ignore the 2007 WC MOS? Don't you think thats relevant? And it's not like he was a passenger in the other WCs before that.
Giving McGrath credit for playing in a good team that won games is dumb, but yeah the MOTS award is definitely worth bringing up because it's about him specifically.

I think Pollock is probably the greatest ODI cricketer of all time so I don't like arguing against him. I do think McGrath was a marginally better bowler but it's only very very marginal. It's a bit like Marshall vs Imran in Tests for me.

Murali almost did as good as Mcgrath in 2007 but u said he sucked in WCs

Pollock didn't take many wickets in 2007 because he was past his prime but his economy at 3.53 was significantly better than Mcgrath's 4.41

He had good figures in 2007 and 2011. My minor issue is that Murali never had a starring role in winning his team a WC like the other bowling elites. But I don't mind him or Warne in the XI.

Irrelevant.
