Sure they can but having at least two genuine pacers I am assuming most posters will agree on.Why can't opening bowlers be spinners?
I agree with the xfactor part. I think 80 percent of the time the pacers will do the job in ODIs but I like Warne for coming in those special occasions.Warne just edges Murali for me.
Need my Spinner to have that little more X factor which is where Warney gets ahead of Saqi and Murali.
This for me tooAnyhoo, my selections for 3, 4 and 5 are Viv, Kohli and ABD.
As a bowler Murali is a bit better but for an ATG XI perspective Warne brings his batting into the equation.Murali. That people rank Warne ahead of him or Saqlain in Odis is a joke.
Warne's runs per innings in odis is just around 9-10 which is hardly a big bonusAs a bowler Murali is a bit better but for an ATG XI perspective Warne brings his batting into the equation.
Yeah Warne might have been reasonably useful as lower order batsman but not in ODIs. There would be a much stronger case for picking Pollock over McGrath for batting ability than picking Warne over Murali.Warne's runs per innings in odis is just around 9-10 which is hardly a big bonus
What? Pollock gets picked over Mcgrath on bowling alone. Better economy, similar average, more longevity + only thing he's worse is in S/RYeah Warne might have been reasonably useful as lower order batsman but not in ODIs. You are so far beyond even "kuch bhi?" territory at this point. What? Pollock gets picked over Mcgrath on bowling alone. Better economy, similar average, more longevity + only thing he's worse is in S/R
See above.Pollock and Garner are locks in ATG ODI XI.
Vying with Lance Klusner and Joel Garner for the number 6 spot. What about Michael Bevan?
