State Captain
He’s legit. Possibly bowls a touch too fast, but otherwise he’s a gun. Happy he’s getting to show the batting as well, has always been a good batIs Ben "BAD" Manenti legit or not?

From what I’ve seen, he’s started moving it a touch and it’s helped him no end4/47 off 9. Meredith going full Shaun Tait/Lance Morris.
Hey I'm gonna let Nintendo take over from me as the Whiteman fan.I think Menenti's figures (5-107) flattered him. Those 5 were 5 of the last 6 WA wickets to fall when WA were chasing quick runs following the 300 odd run partnership between Whiteman (193) and Bancroft (135).
Whiteman's inning certainly reinforced @Nintendo who earlier posted "Whiteman's stats since he started opening at the end of the 2019/2020 shield season: 1532 runs @47, 6 hundreds, 6 fifties. In that time he was MOTM in in the shield final that WA won and he's a fantastic player of spin. The fact that he's not had any chances with Aus-A in this period is mind-boggling to me, tbh. Can't think of an opener in the shield bar pucovski who's put those kind of numbers up in the period."
Perhaps the Australian selectors think his name might be found offensive in some quarters.
Whiteman and hales ended up batting together for the thunder a few times last year after the hales blackface incident and my god was the banter that came from that hilarious.I think Menenti's figures (5-107) flattered him. Probably alone here but I don’t think that Sangha is that badThank **** Sangha only got 50. I mean, that'll be enough to keep him there another three years, but he would be less of a meme if he actually went large.
He was always touted as an all-rounder he just never made any runs. Finally that's changed, he's having a bit of an Ashley Noffke-esque peakAbbott's transition from #9 to genuine all-rounder was so sudden and weird. He averaged 15 for his first 50 odd shield games, then all of a sudden he decided he was the best all-rounder ever and has averaged ~50 w/ the bat in his last 15 shield games.
How many people actually touted him as an all-rounder early on? I swear it was just mark waugh, but I could be wrong. He was always touted as an all-rounder he just never made any runs. Finally that's changed, he's having a bit of an Ashley Noffke-esque peak
I think the problem is:Probably alone here but I don’t think that Sangha is that bad
IF he was their only project, then I could come to terms with him being ever present as he does have talent
However, it’s definitely a problem when the Blues stack their order with other frauds from the same nursery
Now you have guys like Ward pumping their home state
I can't be bothered digging, but i'm pretty sure you could make a team of NSW defects / NSW guys without a contract who would beat themI think the problem is:
1. He's gotten far more chances than he deserves. Was picked too early, then got given like 20 FC games where he basically did Sweet FA when realisitically he should've been told to break back in the side with gallons of runs at grade/second XI cricket (which in fairness it looks like he's mostly done?). Instead, he got a ride when guys like Solway were permanently axed based on one bad season. It's only now he's starting to come good, and most of the time it's a good looking 40-60 which makes the average fine but really doesn't help NSW win a game.
2. The likes of Ward/Hunt going to other states and playing excellently. Admittedly they're both openers whereas Sangha is a middle-order bat, so IDK whether it was down to him (wasn't it mostly Hughes/Larkin opening the batting up until the time they had already gone?), but it hurts NSW's depth a lot when guys leave for better opportunites and gun it when the guys they're stuck with spud it up.
I actually agree he's not NSW's biggest problem. But he clearly has gotten a massive ride on talent alone and it's easy to see why he's become a target. It's worse now as he's not performing bad enough to be dropped but he's still not delivering on ROI.
IMO there has to be something wrong with NSW's coaching. The last genuinely gun talent to come through the nursery was Pat Cummins. He made his Test debut 11 years ago. Beyond that....Patterson's been good, Tanveer has talent but is still raw and who else that didn't defect to another state is really first-class standard that is younger than Patterson/Cummins? The fact is that at this point Abbott's probably in NSW's best three batsmen. When you consider NSW has typically made up a significant chunk of the core of the Australian team as well....
