Is a month of rain normal for Melbourne at this time of year or have they just been unlucky with the scheduling?
Bit of both. It's the rainiest time of the year in SE Aus but it's not like we have a monsoon season or anything - it has been atypical for sure.Is a month of rain normal for Melbourne at this time of year or have they just been unlucky with the scheduling?

“You know that old tale in the bible when Abraham is talking to god about Sodom and Gomorrah … He’s like begging with god and says ‘god, if I can find ten good people in Sodom and Gomorrah, please, do not nuke Melbourne.”Always good to see you admit that Lauren Southern was right.

She came to Melbourne to film the classic 1959 post-apocalyptic movie On The Beach about Australia being the last surviving place on earth following a nuclear holocaust and is reported to have said it was "the perfect place to make a movie about the end of the world."

They look like the two mates who have always left their wallet at home when it’s their turn to shout
That's not quite correct. Jillett was quoting Ava Gardner in his story, who was in turn recounting what Kim Novak told her. It's an apocryphal story. The quote was fabricated by Sydney Morning Herald journalist Neil Jillett for a satirical piece
