nah ultimately there are only three spots for pacers and I don't think Nattu gets in ahead of Chahar, Arshdeep and the fast pacer tbd. will be a useful backup to have if fit though

Bumrah, Arshdeep, Deepak Chahar and Nattu with Jadeja, Axar and Hardik as all-rounders is a good line-up. All the oldies in the T20 team should go away and play ODI and tests alone. Bhuvi, Shami, Rohit, Rahul, Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik should all be dropped.
Shaw and Pant opening for India will be a dream. Kohli at 3, SKY at 4 and Hardik at 5 is solid. Should groom and select one player between Hooda, Tilak Verma , Rana, Tripathi or any under-19 guy for the number 6 position. Criteria should be to be able to hit from ball one and also bowl a couple of overs. Need just a 10 ball 20 from one of them.

I don't know if it's a fundamental change at grassroots or what - but it also seems like the batsman just do not care about their secondary skills now a days. We used to have Sehwag , Yuvraj , Raina , Sachin , Ganguly all capable of bowling in a pinch, Dravid could keep if the team balance required it, Yuvraj's bowling was such a massive factor in us winning the 11 WC.
Literally no one does part time bowling now and if they do (Rohit , Kohli) - they completely stop it as soon as their position in the team gets solidified on pure batting. It's not a major factor tbh, but it does hurt and the team does lose some flexibility because of this.

Guys like Maxwell, Root , markram still do it.
Not all with problems trying to bowl though. And also pretty much on the same level as some of the better part timers if not much better. Kind of weird to worry about this though.
You have actual ARs though, so pick and choose from them if they're fit and good.

Because if any of our top 4 could bowl even 2 overs , we could play both Pant and DK instead of Axar Patel who only played as an insurance if any of the 5 bowlers (Bhuvi, Arshdeep, Shami, Hardik,Ashwin )have bad day , he could be called upon.

all of them are better than part timers though and put in extra work for their bowling to be adequate. No Indian batsman will ever do that with how fierce the competition is
Jaiswal and Tilak are the two that can do a similar role and are worth keeping an eye on

Axar was under-utilised and deserves better than insurance
i don’t agree on this take either, having at least two all-rounders in the team is much better than the extra batsman in there

You mean we needed Shardul Thakur .
Axar's role is mainly to bowl though, not be a stopgap like the old part-timers. He's more Adil Rashid than Sehwag.
Besides it's besides the point to moan about having part-timers who can be alright when some of the best Indian T20 players aren't being picked at all (leaving aside injured players).

Quit wet dreams about all rounders to give depth to batting and million bowling options. Pick your best 6 batsmen, best 4 bowlers and 1 best available all rounder. It's all this fancy **** why we had literally no proper batsmen in the squad to replace underperforming batsmen.
