The irony of this post is that had the double header been today instead they absolutely both would be washouts; we've had on and off blustery rain all day with a shower passing through every half hour like clockwork.
Would make for a bleak Bradman Stand climb

Have you been to the Victory Hotel yet?

So long as NZ put Ireland away reasonably comfortably (by say 20+ runs) NZ should be safe for the semi's so that's something.
Yeah (though any win should do) and if we lose to Ireland the players will have to swim home anyway.

Pleased to see Adelaide's forecast ok anyway - getting a washout vs the two weakest teams in the group would be a little on the nose.

If NZ win at all they make it easily. Their NRR is still far better than anyone else’s in the group
Would certainly need something really weird to happen in the Afghan v Aus game - even if NZ ties with Ireland and wins in the super-over I think Australia would need to bowl out the Afghans for 60 and run it down in about 3 and a half overs.

Looks like a couple of possible injuries in the Aussie camp.
What's the story with Sean Abbott atm? Is he even in the squad.
Whenever I spot him in the big bash the guys a star, got X factor written all over him, with both bat and ball.
Is he injured, not fancied, or just not good enough?

Nah haven't gone down that way yet. Haven't had the time tbh (and I don't have a car here)
Hope you can get down there on a decent day. Great part of the world. Call in at D’Arenberg for some reds and a look through the Dali exhibition in the cube. Great joint

Gee, Kane really has to go.

I keep thinking maybe him floating is a good idea, but then what circumstance do I really want to see him other than 14-5 after 9 overs, when he can marshall us to 80. If we get off to a good start, he applies the handbrake, and if we're in a hole, he digs us deeper. Nightmare.

Yeah I defend Smith at times because I really do think he can score at a clip in the right conditions; he has the shots to do it. But Kane was trying bloody hard to get going tonight and did not even look close to capable of going at more than a run a ball, it was just so easy for the bowlers to cut off his scoring options completely.

If he wasn't the captain I think he'd have been dropped by now, either for Guptill (with Conway shuffling down to 3) or Chapman (with Mitchell shuffling up to 3). I feel for the guy, he must know that with his form post-injury he doesn't really deserve to be in the side.

Yeah he must feel down in the dumps with himself. Can't help but feel Chapmans a bit better than we all think.

Stoinis had some hammy issues, david didn't field at all yesterday and reported some kind of strain.
