As long as the minnow results go the way they are expected all Aus need is for NZ to beat England from what I understand

That was against WI. Waugh and Bevan took 20 overs to make the last 50 runs

This was much more understandable because the way tiebreaks worked in that competition, NZ actually would have missed out on the final entirely if they'd lost without SA getting a bonus point.

It was self-interest rather than just spite.

A) It is against the site rules to try to stamp cricket discussion on a cricket discussion forum
B) I am 50 years old and don't play any cricket I retired 5 years ago. My next step is coaching.
C) When I played in my twenties I was in the premier division in Canada. I was an opening batsman. I have plenty of chops for making cricketing technique comments and based on my knowledge of the other posters on this message board who have largely only watched cricket on TV would comfortably be in the top ten people on this forum for knowledge of the game of cricket based on their days as a player and playing top level club cricket
D) You are completely wrong. No not every minnow batsman in the WC would utterly dominate in the premier division I played in. My division had members of Team Canada, Ex FC players from around the world and one or two former test match players. And the only players who did dominate were the former test match players and a guy from the India Under 19s that they imported into the league and paid $10K per month to play.
The standard of play in my division was such that when Larry Gomes filled in for my team as a 50 year old he could only manage 17 runs and had to work hard for his runs. You don't know anything about me or cricketing background but I do know it is better than yours and the tape ball you grew up playing.

believe me, i've seen cnerd play and it's a lower standard than tape ball
