I disagree with the premise that these are the two leading contenders to be the second best ever Australian pacer. Cummins hasn't done enough to be ranked ahead of Lindwall (and arguably Davidson) yet.

But e’s already had an 11 year test career, as a pacer apparently you should be able to judge him on that, what happens after this point is of no concern in where he ends up in all time ratings.

cummins is one of the best pace bowlers i've seen (of australians, only mcgrath and harris can claim to be better), but lillee probably has him covered for now.

I rate Lillee higher than most people on CW tbh. He’s definitely clear for now.

Lillee is obviously an atg and a sporting icon but I think that he’s a bit overrated

Cummins is a relentless bowling machine who performs in all conditions

If the latter continues to perform at his current level for another couple of years then I see no reason to rank him behind DK as the only thing in Lillee’s favour is longevity

I don't think Cummins has bowled many memorable spells after his debut, it's just the same boring effective **** again and again. He's the most accurate bowler I've ever watched.

Never saw Ambrose. From what I do remember of late career McGrath, I think Cummins is more accurate.
