Unfortunately that's this SA team in a nutshell , not really a team I guess with all the politics around it is hard to be one . Everyone looks out for themselves first , thats kinda the reason why Rossouw has never played Test cricket despite his outrageous talent.
So they’re basically a “team”
In name only and more a group of individual libertarians.
Explains why their performances have been so ordinary when it’s mattered.

Jeez Rossouw is hitting a rich vein of form innit he? 2 100s & a 50 in his last 3 digs.

Are SA the dark horse this tourney?

They got put in the right group for them to do some damage, with Pakistan and India the only major opponents and not as well-suited to Aus conditions. They should qualify

Wouldn't back them against Aus, Eng or NZ though

Whatever it takes!!!
It's quite ridiculous that Finch and Bavuma are selected much less captains of their respective sides. Pretty weak from the selectors/boards and it's putting someone elses career on hold.
Daily reminder that KL Rahul is our vice-captain. :(

I don't think so , because when the bright lights are on and it's do or die the Proteas bottle it . Pretty much the Tottenham Hotspur of World Cricket.

What happened with those 5 penalty runs in SA's innings.
How the hell does that work.?
A batsman can swan around all over the crease, switch hit, no issues, but the keeper moves back which HAS NO EFFECT on play, and get's penalised.
It's a BATSMAN'S game isn't it.

You can't move the field in any capacity on a Free Hit . That is why the penalty runs were awarded.

Note a great day for Al Hasan (3)

Or in this case Al Hasan 1(4).

The stat about Bangers' average vs high pace is instructive tstl.

I must be mistaken because I thought the keeper was the one guy that was allowed to move up or back on a free hit, like for safety reasons

Nortje is probably the one bowler that can challenge Wood for pace , he's a handful.
In terms of consistent pace possibly, but don't forget both Lockie Ferguson & Umran Malik both recorded speeds in excess of 157kms earlier this year. I don't recall either Wood or Nortje quite reaching those speeds.
