One positive of T 20 cricket is it gives more opportunity to lesser talent sides to win on their day leading to more competitive tourneys.

But the thing that makes me hate this format the most is the classical great players like Williamson, Smith, Cummins become less important for their sides.
Williamson is making himself less important though , there is absolutely no reason to be 12 off 16 with 1 wicket lost , when your side has gotten off to such a brilliant start . It's really poor from such a smart cricketer .

Some guys just can't go from ball one no matter how good they are , this format is just not long enough for classical players to get themselves in.

Seems like a good wicket for rolling your fingers over the ball, even if not necessarily good for spin bowling.

That's a great 50.
And exactly what an 'anchor' is supposed to do in t20 - solid defensively and rotate the strike, but also take a risk about once an over and find the boundary.

The thing is, in this scenario it would have been nice to have Williamson there in the hutch in case Conway gets out and Phillips/Chapman/Neesham **** it up, which does happen.

So by not shuffling the order we not only robbed ourselves of momentum but took away our safety net.

That said, still in a good position.

A lot riding on Phillips and Chapman here. Plenty of chance of wasting our good start - Williamson got a bit stuck, didn't completely kill the momentum but certainly arrested it. Got to get well over 200 after that start.

You know, for someone with good figures, Phillips looked like a tailender having a semi-competent slash.
