Who is the worst player of all time that would be selected in every XI in history?

If the Invincibles played a top 6 of Morris, Barnes, Bradman, 2 of Harvey/Hassett/Brown, Miller it would be pretty hard to break in.

Hassett or Brown are perhaps the most vulnerable, but I wouldn't pick any of Martyn/Ranatunga/Stokes/Shakib ahead of them.

Loxton and Johnson ruin it. Shakib over Johnson is a no brainer.

Would Shaun Pollock make the best West Indian team? Yes imo but arguably too good a player. Flintoff/Cairns is maybe the sweet spot of a bloke that can get in a lot of these teams on bowling alone, but offers enough with the bat too. Surely the great Australian team would take one of Flintoff/Cairns ahead of Lee or Gillespie.

They're just straight up better than some of the pace bowlers in the Indian Ashwin/Jadeja teams.

But then we come back to if Flintoff or Cairns is really worse than Martyn

Ted Dexter.
He would but I don't think he's close to the worst.

Pollock would get in over Croft/early Walsh on bowling again but nah, lazy suggestion. Too good.

A more solid batsman than Flintoff/Cairns who's comparable with the ball would be closer to the answer I think. Scraping the barrel by going pre-War here but Noble perhaps.

Tony Greig can bowl both medium pace and off break to a decent standard in tests. 40 with the bat though he benefits from a shorter career and is probably more like Stokes. He can circumvent the team balance problem.

Yeah I thought of Noble and he'd make every eleven IMO, but I think he was pretty clearly a better player than whoever we think the worst specialist batsman better than Martyn was.

The best opening pair in history is Sutcliffe and Hobbs, but the second best is Greenidge Haynes or Hayden Langer
I'd definitely put Morris/Barnes and Simpson/Lawry ahead of G/H and H/L, and possibly Hobbs-Rhodes, and Boycott-Amiss.

Johnson averaged 29 with the ball and captained Australia.
Classic no rounder. Not a good enough frontline bowler (2 wickets per match) and nowhere close to a specialist batsman.

Yeah I think this is the right kind of zone but he probably misses out on middle orders Sobers played in.

Actually McMillan isn't third seamer quality in a great side and he's just a moderate downgrade on Stokes which suffers from the same problem.

In Harvey's first Test the Aus top 6 was Barnes, Morris, Bradman, Hassett, Miller, Harvey.
