World Cup could be a bit of a curveball this season too for the Prem, right?
I think it'll probably work in favour of the smaller teams. I was chatting to a Leeds fan after their game on Sunday about whether they'll fall apart mid-season playing at that intensity, and it's plausible that not one of their players has a knockout game. Some of those lower half teams will basically get a four week winter break.

I think they'll turn it down. It's more than he's worth but they're at too much risk of relegation to let one of their better players go this late in the window.

The fans would lose their **** too, he's the only thing worth watching for.

So Chelsea bid £50m +£10m in add ons for Gordon. Everton will be morons to turn that down.
From a Chelsea pov, Is this the latest evidence that Tuchel has lost the plot? The little I've seen of Gordon reminds me of someone's description of another player many years ago; 'busy, skilful and lively but generally useless'. Maybe that's a bit harsh, but how much does Gordon actually deliver? It's a lot of money to pay for someone to play for your reserves.

It's a fair description but he's only 21 and Tuchel is a positional coach. Turning pace, energy, and technical ability into an end product is exactly what he's there for.

I can see why he wants him and he's hardly going to turn around to the owners and say "nah that's too expensive".

Don't think Tuchel has much of a say in who they're buying at the moment. This new owner just throwing money at everything that looks their way.

He's bloody quick but so is Traore at Wolves and he delivers nothing. I genuinely can't see why a club would pay that much for a player with one season behind him. If I was Lampard I'd drive him to London and take a Chelsea youngster back with me.

Just a reminder to you all that the whites and some geordies are entertaining your screens tonight

Given the gulf and how we’ve both started the season I’ll take a better result than we got against Man U in 2020 as a win. Decent side they’ve put out too
