Woohoo reached 200 this time.

Though the amount of low percentage cricket from the likes of Santner continues to frustrate. Just try to bat out the full 50 overs FFS .

Why was Bracewell batting above neesh and Phillips? I know the meme that he's a batsman who bowls but nzc pick him as a bowler - but still, I'd choose Phillips and neesham ahead of him any day of the week for batting as well.

Also seeing the name Sinclair in a game involving NZ just takes me back a couple decades #skippynostalgia

My best guess is they wanted a lefty against Hosein and Cariah. Of course they could as well sent Neesh in, but based on the contracts list they clearly rate him lower than Macewell.

I think they wanted to save the finishers for the finish and I don't mind that; if anything we should have a more fluid batting order.

I hope Boult gets his test batting average above Southee's before the end of his career.
Been saying for years he'd make the best number 11 in the world.
Instead we choose to make him the worst number 8 or 9 on the planet.
Trent's miles better, at least he tries.

Good stuff from the Windies, they’ve found the right bowling combination for this sort of surface by the looks of it. Aside from the Allen-Mitchell partnership (and even then only once the counterattack began), they pretty much had NZ on a leash.

Personally although he's world class if nzc had any guts whatsoever they shouldn't pick him. I'm not against Boult saying no to contract and wanting to play when he feels like but this was the time for nzc to say thanks but no thanks. They've just opened the door for other players to do what Boult did. Finn Allen may say this in two years time, what do you do then?

Could have made Boult as an example and played Sears in his place. In any case in one day cricket one bowler can't really make a difference.

I think nzc missed a chance to nip any such movement in the bud and saved our cricket from going the West Indies way.. I don't expect Gary stead, Gavin Larsen or David white to have the guts to say to a senior player sorry we can't pick you because you're taking things for granted. Maybe Kane would have told them to bugger off.

I have absolutely no problem whatsoever with Boult choosing t20 leagues though and he's doing it in his best interest.

Southee and Boult rolling over with 5 overs to go is peak ‘we don’t pay them to bat buuuuuut’
i meant to send a reply to this on the day but i forgot to do that

i hate the we don't pay them to bat argument so much right? like nobody is going to begrudge bowlers if they're not very good batsmen (but they could get a bit memed, but that is like oh well haha), but it doesn't cost anything to apply yourself - just look at james anderson, as to whom you absolutely can not begrudge his effort with the stick

Chris Martin got in line.

No one else has any excuses.
