Mitchell would have as many test centuries in England as Greg Chappell if he gets one in this innings.
I considerably fewer innings too. But I hadn't realised that Greg only has three, as I remember all of them and figured that he must have made another couple that I've forgotten.

Kinda looks like England let the pressure off a bit after tea, bowling so many overs from Root. Interesting that Stokes didn’t bowl at all.

Again well done Mitchell and Blundell, crazy series, NZ would’ve been mangled and embarrassed without them.

Skyliner

International Debutant
The top order battlers collectively take the shine off the new ball so batsmen Mitchell and Blundell can make hay. Just need the two batsmen to bat through most of the second day now.

In such great form he even middles it from the non-striker's end!

That's one for the ages. And so beautiful that it took NZ to 123 for 5 too - who said the gods of cricket don't have a sense of humour.

Chubb

International Regular
Always felt the Overton twins were a bit overrated and Jamie showed why he’s behind Archer, Wood, Stone etc as out and out pace bowlers, as much as I wish him well. Though he and his brother are exactly the kind of kids who would have bullied me at school in Devon so maybe I don't wish him well?

Mitchell’s actually done better than Root this series. Immense.
Daryl Mitchell's test record vs England (this is his 7th innings against them):

73 (test debut)
6
13
108
190
62*
78*

Overall 530 runs at 106. He's done better than the Don vs England. Hope he can get another 100 tonight.
This series 451 at 150.33.

And also won a World T20 semi against the Poms too.
