Just pointlessly leaked 9 easy runs on a pitch that offers nothing for spin for absolutely no reason to put them 3/27. Could have had Ebadot on to bowl with some fire and maybe had them 4/18. I just don't understand what motivates this type of utter stupidity.

Strange captaincy all around today tbh, I wasn't that keen on Kraigg's use of Motie either.

Got to give it to Bangladesh's seamers, I think they've been impressive.

If Campbell can keep very slowly averaging 30 while taking the shine off the ball, it's not such a bad thing really.

Well done Windies folks. Not much to be said for a win against this lot at the moment, but importantly, you didn't bottle it either. Alzarri bowled like a boss, Blackwood kept his head and crafted an innings and Motie got a debut, which are all things that bode well for the future.

Meanwhile these stats from this article are just gross:

Bangladesh's catching has hurt them in all formats this year. In T20 cricket, they have dropped one-third of all the catches that have gone their way: 84 taken and 39 dropped. The number is similar in Tests where they have dropped 24 out of 69 chances.

This won't be solved until each individual decides to step up. Bangladesh employ Shanto, Yasir Ali (currently injured) and Litton (when he is not keeping wicket) in the slip cordon. But Shanto has dropped five of the 11 chances that have come his way over the last three years.

Yasir has a good reputation as a slip, but hasn't played enough for me to say either way. Shanto is terrible though and Liton has proven he's a real wicket keeper by shelling everything in slips.

Obviously slips catching is less important in Bangladesh domestic cricket on those slow roads than it is in Tests so it's not that surprising they've always sucked at it, but it's one thing all professional coaching should be able to really improve. It's one thing doing lame fielding drills, it's another thing entirely to have a gun former slipper come in and teach the potential slippers how to catch on bouncier wickets.

There's a bit in Warney's autobiography about how Bob Simpson taught them all how to take slips catches which involved some actual technical things, such as using your hips a particular way, and some other things I can't remember.

I would have thought catching a ball would be pretty instinctive if you've got the reflexes for it but apparently there's more to it. How about that then.

Yasir's been better than some others in the slips anyway. Dropped a sitter or two but taken at least two blinders.

He's fine when it's not doing much but doesn't have the reflexes for pace bowling from what I can see

His fifty against NZ was vital tbf.

Shunto forever though, yeah.
I quite like how him and Mominul have a solitary 50 against NZ in their win and no other innings of note in this entire WTC cycle. 15 innings for a sub 20 average for both.

So the second test starts tomorrow. I'm quite worried tbh. We never win in St Lucia. Our bowlers always do well as it has pace and bounce but our batsmen struggle terribly and I was very impressed with Bangladesh's seamers and their accuracy.

Lol, if our bowlers are going to cause trouble on that deck then our bats might be in danger of the lowest ever test score.

Only positive is Shoriful has been flown in and will hopefully have the chance to bowl with the Dukes ball. Still has a lot to prove but he's got more ability than all of them IMO.

Unfortunately for the Tigers, they have too many left-handers in their batting lineup. Roach eats lefties for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
