I've asked this question numerous times why both can't be used. People say it's not reliable.
But then it provides a better insight having both than just the one.
I'm sure i've seen hotspot still used in the past couple of years as snicko wasn't available or something.

It used to (and presumably still does?) miss quite a lot of thin edges, so in the case just gone it may not necessarily been of definitive use, but I agree it should at least be there for the times there's an obvious white spot and you can go "yep, definitely hit it" without risking confusion over whether a mark on snicko is an edge or something else
