well, you may think that with me playing 7/8 top batters on a flat pitch against a mediocre bowling attack would result in a big score

but, you see, recently my batting lineup decided to turn crap

Anyway, this may be a close game.

Re rules re progression to playoffs etc - (post 6,429 and 6,120 useful for added context)

In terms of teams to get to playoffs see
I like the 2 groups of 9 seeded based on CW rankings, but for KO stage can I suggest:

Eliminators
1st Group A vs 2nd Group B
1st Group B vs 2nd Group A
Winners to Semi-Finals

1st Eliminator Loser vs 3rd Group B
2nd Eliminator Loser vs 3rd Group A
Winners to Semi-Finals

Semi-Finals, Finals.

Gives 1st and 2nd place 2 cracks at making the Semi Finals, while 3rd place gets one go. So it's an incentive to finish in the Top 2 of either group, while actually keeping 6 teams in the running for the title.

The remaining 12 teams can play similar KO stages, with 6 teams in each. So we can go Gold, Silver and Bronze Champions.

A limp, insipid performance with the bat from Morpork. The 38-skill spinner was too much for us. 99-run loss on even ratings.

Sure, some would have argued the coach should have picked Van Heerdens and Hollioake for that track, but 228 is always chaseable. Mienetjie Fouche really not growing into the role I would have expected they would play for this team.
