Sure but check out the economy rates of all the bowlers through the whole match safe Boult. Very very ordinary for some reason, and from what I saw they bowled both sides of the wicket again last night. It’s bizarre from an attack which should be capable of at least hitting the towel

Tickner’s domestic teammate Dane Cleaver has received his maiden test call-up as a replacement for reserve wicketkeeper Cam Fletcher, who has also been ruled out of the tour with a grade-two right-hamstring strain.

Fletcher sustained the injury while fielding on day four of the second test as a substitute for Jamieson and will require six to eight weeks to recover :-O

Good call to have Cleaver as backup for Blundell. IMO he should have been in the test squad ahead of Fletcher and Fletcher in white ball.

So side for the 3rd test?

My XI: Young, Conway, KW, Nicholls, Mitchell, Blundell, Wagner, Southee, Ajaz, Boult

The XI they'll pick: Young, Conway, KW, Nicholls, Mitchell, Blundell, Bracewell, Southee, Tickner, Boult

so obviously there's a lot i don't like about england as a whole but unless root answering the questions he has to answer reveals something about bairstow's involvement in the vicious racism at the yorkshire club, it's hard not to feel good for the bloke

was beyond a meme how much his timbers got shivered at one point, but it has been quite the comeback

Is Latham injured?

Boult 8/200 off 50 overs
Rest of NZ 7/650 off 130 overs

Says it all really. The rest of the bowling absolutely came apart at the seams this game.
Southee - 43 overs 1/220 odd for the game is diabolical for a player of his experience and standing. Unacceptable.

I hate to rag on one bloke in particular, and it's not as though I have ever had anything against Southee in the past at all, but I keep coming back to this.

It's literally the losing the of the game.

Fair question to ask is by giving Latham the captaincy are we screwing up his batting for good? Hear rumours Kane wants to move on as a captain and having someone like Latham is not going to good for the team or Latham.

I think if Kane does move on best to give the captaincy to Young.

Who else is there? Conway's too new and has no captaincy experience, Young's position is way too insecure. Nicholls maybe?

Now that I think about it, I kinda want them to announce Bracewell as the captain for the Pakistan tour just for the CW meltdown that would result.

That'll be like Lee Germon stuff from the past. I won't put this past Larsen and Steady. They are truly capable of doing that.

I know we all get upset about IPL window being so close to test series but reckon IPL stint of Bairstow helped him pulling off the inning he did?
Like I said, I think Bazoakes as coach is the best possible thing for Bairstow's career in tests. He'll look like a prat at times, but having the coach and captain in the dressing room telling him not to worry about playing a proper test innings and just pretending he's playing in the IPL is the best way for him to make an impact.

Possibly did, but he played a terrific knock out here in Sydney last summer which kind of started this iteration of his test career, albeit a different kind of knock.

I still can't get my head around NZ going at sixes in the fourth innings of a test. It's Parramatta-Canterbury levels of embarrassing, regardless of who's batting against you.
