Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
I read that article, it was quite depressing, and the fact that has gone unmentioned is that Potts just isn't quick enough to be the enforcer. This from Andy Bull in his write up for the Guardian last night.
By late Saturday morning it began to feel like England had Statler and Waldorf opening the bowling for them. Broad and Jimmy Anderson both stepped back from the attack after four overs apiece, and then spent a large part of the afternoon chasing the ball around and chuntering to each other, and everyone else, about the condition it was in.
Now I am aware that lots of people here won't remember Statler and Waldorf at all, but I did enjoy this piece, especially as England really have fielded like a bunch of muppets in this test.
Honestly, Jamie Overton is going to be called-up, for all his scatter-gun injury prone uselessness for much of the time he is fast and can bat a bit. I look forward to him having an okay debut, being called the answer and then for him to join our ever long injury-list.
Yet it's possibly a tad melodramatic based on one pitch where even Ollie Pope is scoring runs, and the very good Kiwi seamers who do have a point of difference aren't doing much. Yet hey opinion blogs have to have a big opinion for each day, must be very wearying.
