Setting up a 6 game SOD Series between ZCC and FHK

3 games at 5DNOL Stadium on 14th, 16th and 18th June
3 games at DDM CG on 21st, 23rd and 25th

Both teams will be playing at full strength. Should be interesting. I predict FHK should win 4-2 or 5-1 overall, which would be a massive result given the relative ages of the two clubs and the past history between them.

I'm a big FHK fan too. Just wondering: how much longer to Kovrig/Abdullah have in them before they get replaced by the younger crop of batters?

It seems that the generational switch for the bowlers was a few seasons earlier than for the batters in FHK; looking at my homegrown side as well it has confirmed that bowlers on average are better than batters, which has been denied by the developers IIRC. Then again, in the case of AX-W luck has probably played a big part in it as well.

AXI vs MTO rn, a fair rearguard effort but the Orangutans are well on top.

Was a tough start for AXI vs TMOs this morning.... but the pitch is not easy and decent cloud cover, TMOs need to survive the new ball else anything could happen.

Yesterday the TMOs came up against GG cc @SillyCowCorner1 losing early wickets and never quite posting a total good enough. GG CC after a really good start to their innings dominated the match, however some baffling late innings wickets almost gave the game away, to a try hard bowling effort from the TMOs. But in the end GG cc crossed the line with 9 overs to spare and 2 wickets in hand.

Tam Tak-Chi is already opening the batting in T20s, so he's set to take over, while Tong Ying-Kit is developing well. Probably another season or so till they're both entrenched in the XI. Agnes Chow has just turned 22 so I'll need to find her a regular spot in both senior squads too. Tiffany Yuen is also emerging as a good number 7 or an aggressive opener when conditions suit. So won't be long.

I certainly thought that GG CC were gonna lose that game. They batted without a cricket brain in chasing a relatively decent target...things to take away from this game, setting the aggression around 5 for some of these gung-ho batsmen...

Picked up a 49 pot bowler who can bat and field for $1.2M, which I thought was a bit of a bargain. There are a couple of problems, but this was a pretty niche position I wanted to fill, so I'm not too worried. The problems: he's a bit of a bad batter for a future #8, and he's a variation-heavy NBS when I already have one in my squad.

The one in my squad being a first-team regular who's a worse bat, worse bowl, worse field - but still a very solid prospect. Without any changes, my future bowling attack is almost sewn up: Ludlow/Kaiser/South/Wilde with Roopak as support bowler; need another support bowler. I'm not entirely convinced about it, but it's very good on paper. Thoughts?

Also, I see Schmaltzberg want Dani Rowan. Pleased with that!

ZCC have just dropped half a mill on two new batters.

35K for Akalnivas Gugral, a 31/42 attack-heavy 19 YO bat with 15/17 stamina, 9/14 fielding, Bullet Arm and Iceman. Will be a gun Dev Specialist for us for the next few seasons.

492K for Shabadpreet Samra, a 41/46 attack-heavy 23 YO bat with 13/14 stamina, 11/13 fielding, Dry Hands and a bit of captaincy skill to boot. Will replace 22 YO Jamal Madani in our starting XI. Bolsters our batting lineup and will help ease the transition away from veterans like Heshan and Sajith.

Good purchases IMO. Samra an especially good investment for CWC5 :devil2:

I thought I'd give them one last year to see what kind of coach they become, I remember his Morpork time fondly. Plus he'll give our T20 lineup a bit of a boost in CW5.

Certainly 1.2M for a 49 pot is a lot less than you'd have to pay for 49 pot bats. Be interesting to see how he goes
Best of luck to Rowan, he'll get a final game for AXI against Morpork tomorrow.

I got a 49 pot late bloomer bowler for less than 1M in March lol. Admittedly he's a horrible bat, a horrible field, and was an RM, but that was still insane.
