Hey guys just woke up from a refreshing night’s sleep. Good vibes here but we’re still losing this.
Jamieson poses more of a threat than Tremlett, surely.Jamieson reminds me of Tremlett. Huge guys who don't seem to steam in but are frightening to face.
No way dude, if Root gets out soon you may as well go back to bed.Hey guys just woke up from a refreshing night’s sleep. Good vibes here but we’re still losing this.
Haven't seen many people as intimidating while bowling just over 130 km/h as Tremett in 2010/11. Got injured very soon after though.Jamieson poses more of a threat than Tremlett, surely.
Though also kudos to him for signing up to the IPL for an enormous sum of money in his first season when his stocks were high with Virat Kohli, performing terribly and returning home with a bag of cash and the ability to take his career in whatever direction he wanted.Kudos again to Jamieson for skipping the IPL to work on his bowling. Looking far better than he did in the NZ home summer.
Stead praises Jamieson for skipping IPL
Black Caps coach Gary Stead has praised Kyle Jamieson's decision to skip the Indian Premier League and is hopeful the seamer will be back to his best for the tour of England.www.rnz.co.nz
Tremlett was a monster in the 2011 Ashes. Seriously underrated bowler and loss imo.Jamieson poses more of a threat than Tremlett, surely.
Yes, we didn't see very much of peak Tremlett. Even less than Simon Jones a few years earlier. Whereas Jamieson's averaging 18 after 15 matches.Haven't seen many people as intimidating while bowling just over 130 km/h as Tremett in 2010/11. Got injured very soon after though.
I'm trying to think who we had in 2011. From memory, Anderson, Broad, Finn, Tremlett and Bresnan, most of them at the peak of their powers. Have I forgotten anyone? I'll take a bit of persuading that the current cohort are their equal, despite their potential. When my flatmate asked me something like "name all opening partners of cook" I had to name something like 17 people

For a while there England had like 2 attacks worth of good bowlers. Still do tbh but they're all injured atm.
You could say Anderson and Broad are much more experienced 11 years later.I'm trying to think who we had in 2011. There really wasn't a huge case for picking him. He'd made runs in the CC, but he always does, and so have a lot of people on the pitches being produced for the CC this year. And anyway, I'd rather see him churning out the runs for Surrey.Pope certainly doesn't make supporting him easy
True. Broad's peak was somewhere between then and now. I know that Anderson's figures since around 2014 are extraordinary, so we're weighing up his extra skills level with the effect of approaching 40 on his stamina over five days. I wouldn't like to call it either way.You could say Anderson and Broad are much more experienced 11 years later.
