You could do both; mix in a few weird players to plug gaps in the scouts. With my homegrown I'm developing a couple of guys with bat potentials something like 9/8/20, to see how they go as T20 specialists. (But of course those were actual homegrown players.)

Huge result for the Astronauts over Morpork in Round 1 of the CWC5 Group A! Faiz Saad's 5-fer goes in vain as Milan Kudesia takes 4 on a tricky pitch for the batters. The rest of the results were fairly predictable. Raun Shkorer with the first century of the CWC5, while Tim Chester joins fellow offie Kudesia in taking a 4-fer. Pirates with the 'bye' this round, Young and Holroyd doing some useful stats padding.

Yea this is what I do with FHK too. Agnes Chow with 10/20/11 potential a perfect example. I've also got Tiffany Yuen with 15/7/19 batting pot and 7/17/19 bowling pot, Joshua Wong with 19/8/17 bowling pot.

Internationals usually have to be 40 skill minimum. A player can get a gig with that skill level if there are shortages in certain roles and they have relevant characteristics and/or high form. Skill distributions matter too. Someone like Tiffany Yuen might get a shot in T20Is despite relatively low overall skill.

100 up for FHK in the 13th over for the loss of just 3 wickets. Tony Chung quickly on to 49 off just 26 balls. Platform is set - can we finish strong?

176 on the board for FHK, but more importantly, 2 wickets within the first 8 balls of the chase.

AXI chasing 149 to win vs TMO, while Charminister CC would have sensed an upset bowling GG CC out for 121, but are already 2 down in the chase. Couple of exciting games brewing here.

Moooo with 162 against the somewhat abandoned SCT, while Winton CC with the 'bye' round and enjoying a quick and easy bot bash in the process.

Stunning upset for Charminster CC over GG CC! Spinners Wouder Bernstein and Angus Payne bundle out the powerful GG CC batting lineup for just 121, following which Tonderai Mhlabandlovu blasts 68 off just 34, coming in at 24/3, to guide his side home to victory!
AXI and FHK put in clinical displays, while Bar Way smokes 91* off 64 as Moooo secure a massive NRR boost in week 1.

Excellent stuff from Murdoch and Smit there, while AX-W performed to a rather expected low level. Anthony Davidson hitting 54 (22) to continue piling on the runs vs AXI also notable. Cup match tonight vs SA Ducks, hope we win to complete a stellar week for the main.

FHK knock the Hunks out of the Cup with a clinical display. ZCC are drawn up against a bot, which means both sides will get into Round 3.

Charminister CC, Moooo and Morpork and GG CC have drawn bots too, while all eyes will be on AXI, TBI and TMO to see if they can join their fellow CWC'ers in Round 3. Shri's Croquette Team are in Round 2 as well, but would take a minor miracle for them to get past Relegation Reprobates

TNT are out already...played a full development team after been drawn against the Warriors Of The Wasteland... nervous for TMO game, wanted to get deep in this cup. Currently, playing in a testing friendly against Moooo...

262k for a low skill and underdeveloped 17 yo 46 pot bat. 14 pot keeping and stamina with Slow Starter is nice. Skill distribution lends well to being a top order keeper/bat. I want to keep bidding on him but feels like this could easily swell up to half a mill for a player that will take a lot of game time + coaching to get anywhere close to their potentials.

It's especially temping since he'd be an almost like-for-like replacement for Heshan de Mehlo, who I should phase out of the team in the next few seasons...

Just as a 46 potential bat is still cheap nowadays at just under $450K... I would look at him for the TMOs except I have enough training to be doing. I bet if he had a potential fielding of 12+ he would be pushing a $1M already...

TMOs won their two big games this last week... the SOD to try get back to div 2, and the Cup game to get into 3rd round. Important to help keep finances out of the red for awhile longer!

TNT still being competitive, I`m starting to like the way the team is shaping up as I was little lost in the beginning. Unfortunately CW5 is likely to be a long cup for both the TMOs and TNT with T20 format not their forte...
