Stokes just casually decided to hit 15 sixes in his first innings since getting England captaincy. Speaking of, is there a better ball striker going around who's better then stokes when he's in the mood. When he feels like it he makes the fence look 50 metres too small and he does it pretty often.

Well, the unusually dry start to the season is definitely helping the batsmen...remains to be seen if any of these guys are up to international standard though.

I imagine the Stevo's gonna get ya WhatsApp group has lost some members too.

Even if the season has been batter-friendly, it's better that England have guys in form with the bat rather than those who can't buy a run (unless you're Zak Crawley and you're in anyway). It's a step up facing Southee and Boult of course.

Meanwhile Stevens, who's just turned 46, has just scored 168 (142) agains a Sri Lanka 'Development XI'. Must be a humbling experience for them getting thrashed by a guy old enough to be most of their's father.

Brooks brings up his 3rd century in 6 innings with a six, run a ball, currently has 618 runs @ 206 in div 1 with 6 50+ scores in 6 innings. Hell of a turnaround fora guy averaging mid 20's in fc pre this.

Yep, think Key will go for him myself, likes an attacking player and most of the other attacking players are at the IPL.

Steketee only got to bowl 10-0-61-0 out of 144 overs bowled against Yorkshire (Sam Cook 33, Snater 24, Walter 8). In the meantime, Jamie Porter has taken 7-42 for the 2nd XI against Surrey.

Overall, Steketee's taken his wickets at 48 this season at a not-very-good economy rate either. Hard to justify Steketee's continual inclusion other than stubbornness and investment.

I think Snater has been preferred to Porter so far (and has done very well). But yeah Steketee looks like the weak link in that attack right now. Kelly at Northants hasn't gone great either so far.

It's the sunk cost fallacy in play, isn't it. Seen it so many times for overseas players not only in county championship, but overseas players at clubs in general.
