My Post WWII Test Top 10

The criteria was set at “a minimum of 25 Tests in the time period”. Bradman therefore doesn’t qualify. The merit of the criteria could be disputed, but not Bradman’s absence from the list based on it.

AND to the best of my knowledge WW2 finished in ,1945 so Bradman and co. have to be considered As one poster said"Poor research"
For you and anyone who thought they were clever to like you post "POOR ENGLISH COMPREHENSION SKILLS".

I also said minimum of 25 tests...

The reason for the criteria is simple, in the post WW2 era, less than 25 tests does not indicate a full career. For example, something I've always found weird is adding in players like Proctor who only had 1 series under their belt, and then using FC as back up for that, but FC cricket all across the world has almost always been several levels below international cricket post WW2.

Steyn would be next for me...in terms of bowlers it would end up being a close call between Jimmy and Trueman, both may sneak into a top 40.
Sangakkara and Shaun Pollock for sure.

Yes the bloke who averaged 20 at home and 26 away and the bloke who averages 24 at home and 30 away… Always thought they were a close call. One bloke taking 4.5 wickets a match vs one taking 3.5 a match… close close stuff.

That's pretty harsh on Jimmy tbh. he had to bowl in a period of the late 00s and early 2010s when pitches were so flat just about everywhere he played.

Hutton did not make it into my top 30...the batsmen in there could not justifiably be left out for Hutton. Who knows, might be in the next batch.
I guess that's the joy of us all having differing opinions on this and the discussion it engenders - for me, Hutton ranks above all but maybe three of the specialist batsmen in your list.

No it really isn’t. There’s a reason he’s nicknamed Clouderson. I know another fast bowler who played through the exact same time period and ended up with a far lower overall average, and easily lower in every country bar England and the UAE.

Which 3? I'm going to guess Viv, Tendulkar and Sobers.
