I think Richard Simmonds got there 15 balls earlier! His knock moved him into outright second on the AX century-makers list also. Only du Preez's ahead of him.In other news, Peter Sutherland becomes the first CW batsman to cross 1000 runs this season in competitive cricket.
For some reason I didn’t see Simmons’ name when I checked it out. I stand corrected!I think Richard Simmonds got there 15 balls earlier! His knock moved him into outright second on the AX century-makers list also. Only du Preez's ahead of him.
That seems right - also from another perspective: your players have six seasons to play DEV cricket, and ideally you want 12-13 players in your youth system (a DEV 11 plus one or two players that are already ready to contribute to seniors) that means you will have a little more than 2 competent players every 15-week season, which works out to once every 6-7 weeks.Anyhow ......my simple analysis shows me that I can only hope for a pull you might keep or sell for any sort of a profit once every 6 weeks!
I had not thought of it like that - that seems a great way of visualising it (wood through the trees!) - if you can pull two good players a season who would actually go on to train up to be senior as well - you'd be happy wouldn't you ? You'd need to buy a 3rd player each season to keep a squad of 18 running ....and on that tight scenario , the money to buy in those players if they have not come from selling any pulls would have to be from your profits from weekly revenues less costs. That seems right - also from another perspective: your players have six seasons to play DEV cricket, and ideally you want 12-13 players in your youth system (a DEV 11 plus one or two players that are already ready to contribute to seniors) that means you will have a little more than 2 competent players every 15-week season, which works out to once every 6-7 weeks.

IS that my old Bernie Tennant (aka as 'The Doctor'?) I sold him many moons back (not to you I thought) - I will have to give him a look for rold times sake!Got 13 players across my 2 teams on the Transfer Market right now in case anyone is interested. Most of them with at least decent potential if not better. Highlights include Bernie Tennant - a 35 current/44 pot seamer, Damian Hutchinson at 19 had a lot of his DEV years past him already but has good potential - 11/23 current bat/bowl but 42/44 potential bat/bowl if you want a project.
Mangal Neelam a 15 current, 44 potential 16 year old seamer, Bhupendra Niki a 19/11 current batting/bowling allrounder with 39/41 potential batting/bowling. Shamiso Luqe at 19 a spin-bowling allrounder with 26/27 batting/bowling currently and 36/44 potential batting/bowling.
Wasn't going to initially but given I've done the write up I might as well speculatively post this in the Stumped Forum too.
It is, the person who bought him off you, let him go to me only a few weeks later! Had no idea he was a former Jura playerIS that my old Bernie Tennant (aka as 'The Doctor'?) I sold him many moons back (not to you I thought) - I will have to give him a look for rold times sake!
He's done ok for you hasn't he - you even squeezed some runs out of him with his abysmal 2/2 SS !!! He's got some decent bowling stats and still some room to improve in the next couple of yearsIt is, the person who bought him off you, let him go to me only a few weeks later! Been a very nice bowler for me - primarily for Winton but has assisted the first phase of Charminster CC's existence - he represents a bit of an end of an era - only Rob Tweddle and Faisal Jawad really left from the old guard, Shamiso Luqe would have to be close to the one of our longest serving current players after that and he is on his way outHe's done ok for you hasn't he - you even squeezed some runs out of him with his abysmal 2/2 SS !!! Indeed remarkably similar - especially considering Charminster CC is pretty new so an outlier can sway percentage quite a bit - hopefully at 15% that means I'm due a good youth pull at Charminster soon - although would prefer it at Winton - desperately need a good batting coach for Charminster soonGreat stuff JoJo - sample size of the two of us aint much to go on but it is very similar across the 4 teams so far!
Hot off the press financial news! With with the finance week now closed/begun and 6 home games on the trot coming up Jura has taken the plunge and built 2,000 extra seats in a nano-second !
My calculations are (disregarding the sunk/fixed cost of the build) you need to be putting 200 bums onto seats of every extra 1,000 seats built to break even on the additional variable cost each week (averaging home/away matches). Obviously in the end you need to cover off the fixed costs as well -but I will be keeping my fingers crossed I haven't jumped too soon and these next matches are bringing in at least 10,500 hardy Scottish souls to watch us challenge for promotion/battle relegation in the various formats of the back end of Season 30
Such a shame we don't get paid any gate money for all our coaching/management/ sweat and tears in CWC ! I feel that Stumped mngt could reward our efforts to foster interest and communication in the community by just a fee of $100 a game (maximum 3 games / $300 a week) and/or a 0.1 improvement to touch for all those who play
