Celtic Park but not Ibrox? I hope it happens just so I can see how creative the rangers fan conspiracy theories get.
Haha, Parkhead is just bigger.

Which ground you prefer comes down to whether you wear green or blue tinted specs (Ibrox is much better) but both grounds are so superior to Hampden it's not funny.

Remember that well. Giving Andy Gray a debut in the deciding match was truly bizarre. Then yanking him off at half time nearly destroyed him.
He was out of his depth though, and we did improve after being dire in the first half. Geoff Thomas wasn't a bad player, even if his England career is mainly remembered for hitting the corner flag when put through against France.

Going back to my edit, do you remember the match when three Palace players started for England? Or even who they might have been?

Southgate and Martyn must've started together at some point too, surely?
You're very good. A quick look at englandstats.com suggests that happened a couple of times. It also suggests that Martyn won 23 caps, which is far more than I'd thought.

No. I'm thinking three of Wright, Solanko, Thomas and Martyn, but don't recall any specific match.

Not sure Southgate played for England while at Palace.
Actually you may well be right. He joined Villa in 1995 and also played his first international in the same year. But I don't know which happened first.

EDIT
You are right. He was a Villa player when he made his England debut.

League 2 is great. I thought Mansfield were about to slide, but a couple of wins and they're casting a huge shadow over the rest with the games in hand again.
I'm not expecting sympathy here :tooth: but I think the International call up postponement rule needs adapting. We had two call ups on top of a lot of injuries and had to play yesterday. Yet other teams got a rest because of call ups when their reserve left back got called up to Papua New Guinea under 21's (that might not be entirely factual, but the gist of the point is).

Incidentally, apologies to @wpdavid for referring to Palace legend John Solako as Solanko. I think it was because we were collapsing in the cricket and a similar name reminded me that we used to be crap at ODI's as well. :cowboy:

If we win our homes then we’ve still got a chance of play offs at least I guess. We’ve really squandered it though. That was a sickener yesterday

Safe now, 3rd win in a row all with clean sheets. Now on to enjoying the last few games and hopefully denying MK Dons an automatic spot and denting Ipswich and Sunderland's play off hopes.

I'm really looking forward to a Slime MK ***** play-off final, as I'm going to be pretty depressed supporting the franchise.

That last post was meant to say "Not looking forward too", but hey who gives a ****.

Jeff Stelling is staying on an soccer Saturday, good news I suppose, yet I was looking forward to the Asian-Vegan-Lesbian-Trans-singlemother-Disabled refugee that so many on twitter were assured would be taking over from Jeff:(

It looks like five subs is going to be a lasting legacy of Covid. The Premier League are introducing it from next season, presumably only because the rest of Europe kept it anyway.

I wasn’t a fan of it in the league last year. But it was inevitable.
Will it be the case that you can only make them in three instance still (half time excluded)?
