I'm not sure how the respective results compare, but Palace always seem to be a pain for Man City when they play and then to compound things roll over for Liverpool.
Looking at the fixture list for both sides, Liverpool have it trickier, have to travel to Arsenal and obviously City.

Just after the Gerrard slip I believe. I was overseas so never saw the Palace game but got the impression they were trying to pile the GD on as they were likely to finish level on points with City. But that was never happening anyway, I think City won 4-0 the following night. And hence they imploded.

That's with hindsight though. I think they needed to rack up the goal difference but who knows how the season pans out if Liverpool don't **** it up.

Chelsea want the Boro game to be behind closed doors because they can’t sell any more tickets to their fans.
Ignoring how insane a request that is. Why can’t the home club just sell tickets to the away end to the Chelsea fans?
We have to do that a few games a season. The % due to the away club could just go into a holding pot, no?

Assuming it's Middlesbrough who are the home team, I doubt they'd want the liability that might arise from selling away end tickets to anyone who wanted them, particularly to an away support as cunty as Chelsea's.

Someone somewhere would have to stump up the cash for the tickets though. I don't think you can charge one set of fans an admission price while letting in the other set without paying.
If Chelsea gave away 4,000 away end tickets at £30 a pop (for arguments sake) they still need to stump up £120,000 to buy the tickets to then give them away. Are they allowed to do that under their current arrangements?

Might not make logical sense, but if they buy the tickets they'd be able to give them away, use them as toilet paper, set them on fire, or do whatever they want with them (apart from sell them) as far as I can see
