Another good win for FHK last night in the SOD, this time spurred on by Joshua Wong's 6/31. Some really good performances in the league lately, heartening to see.

Onto CWC today, and after the morning games we now have AXI, Moooo and the Astronauts all on 8 wins each in CWC Div 2. A clear divide has formed between them and the rest of the teams.

ZCC (253/7) and GG CC (264/8) have both put on runs on the board, should be interesting to see how Morpork and FHK chase them down. I think GG CC should be able to defend their score, it's somewhat above par given the wear on the pitch and FHK's batting is known to be fragile (Agnes Chow nicks off in the 2nd over as I type...). ZCC in with a slightly under-strength team, not a large score so Morpork should believe they can chase this down. In the other two games we have TMO blown out for <200 vs Jura CC and The Buy Ins thumping Schmaltzberg for 338, so those games should be pretty one sided.

31/3, FHK's chase is done. GG CC's quicks have bowled well, 263 was too many runs. Mark Jardine played a blinder. I really wish Ivan Lam would return to form, he's been on 5 touch forever and was in poor form to end last season too. He's a vital part of our team balance and it throws things off when he doesn't bowl well. Ted Hui being in poor form too doesn't help, otherwise I might have picked him over LOY.

Whatever it takes!!!
Finally, I have set some fielding orders properly. Lets hope it works out. My bowling orders are not great either but I am gonna learn very slowly as we have seen. :)

Can somebody please explain why Burger my best bowler keeps on going for so many runs and not taking wickets? He's even in good touch at 13.

Yea I have the same issue with Sampath. In his case it's his low accuracy + partnership breaker trait that huts a bit. On a good day he'll rip a side apart but otherwise he's prone to leak boundaries in between good deliveries.

What's Burger's skill distribution?

Mate his career stats are excellent and he's only got 10exp. What are you complaining about? :P he can't take 3/30 every game.
I`m being greedy... he was my highest wicket taker by a long way last season. And now he is only 4th this season... :P

All too comfortable for GG CC and Morpork today. ZCC's unbeaten run broken, we left some runs out there and lacked penetrativeness with the ball. No Hashim or Zack tho, so wasn't too bad considering that.

FHK performance really disappointing. Excellent batting by Jardine but Ivan Lam's form is a real issue for us atm. Also not sure we should have played 3 spinners.

Fun Dev friendly between FHK and the Hunks today. The Hunks batted really well to set us a challenging score, glad our middle order was up for the challenge. The way they saw off the new ball makes me reconsider opening with the two 16 year olds. They're natural openers but aren't ready yet, we are inevitably 2 down early and putting the middle order under pressure. Might be worth batting one or both of them down the order till they're ready.

Not sure why the Hunks used so many bowlers. Maybe @honestbharani forgot to set orders? Feels like they could have won this if they gave their frontliners their full quota.

I had no idea there was a game tbh. And I have no idea who are my best bowlers.

When you can, go to your club page and check out your players skills.

If you go to Options you can change the skill display into numbers, which is easier to read and interpret imo. Players with higher current skill are your best players, players with higher potential skills and that around young are the ones you should train.

Really good chase by ZCC vs TMO in their first of two Dev Friendlies today. Bert Badenhorst hit 97 off just 71 and Liam Levey a ground out 66 to help the hosts to 232/6. A large score, but conditions were good to bat in. Muchafara Abel got us off to a brisk start with a quick fifty, but it was Shafi Ibrahim (67 off 61) and Ed Halliday (58 off 37) who broke the back of the chase for us. They added 108 runs in just 72 balls, and we got there with 5 wickets and 4 overs to spare. Solid effort without any of our 21 year olds.

Playing Moooo now, same combination on another good batting deck. Mooo have started well, should be a good game.

Levy just a touch slow but still learning... may I ask what aggression you set Halliday and Ibrahim to?

5 for Ibrahim and 7 for Halliday. Letting Ibrahim play his natural game - if he screws up his shot selection and is too attacking he's got the skills for it - while I want Halliday to lean into his aggressive skills.

Another Meyiwa ton

Yayyy!
Great knock. Target is 240 exactly, 3 early wickets so I reckon we won't chase this down! Shafi a first ball duck after his fine knock earlier in the day lol

What a remarkable chase yet again! I thought we were done and dusted at 61/4, and then when Halliday was dismissed at 96/5. But Ghous Ghani (76* off 57) and former Dynamo Taha Jan (61 off 50) had other plans! 122 runs in just 81 balls - bettering the Halliday/Ibrahim partnership earlier today - as we crossed the line with just 9 balls to spare! Brilliant stuff.

Have to sit down and go through the commentary of both games tomorrow to see how many dropped catches we received :P
