***Official English Football Season 2021/22***

Interesting call for the lad. From where I'm sat, he's not going top be impoverished at another PL club, even if he does take a pay cut. And he may feel it's worth it to be playing regular first team football in the months leading up to the WC. Quite where he'd go is another interesting call. I don't see him getting any more pitch time at Man City or Liverpool than he is at Man Utd. Ditto Chelsea. I'd take him at Palace in a heart beat, but he probably doesn't feel the same way. Maybe Newcastle would offer something close to what he's earning now and they seem to be on the up.
He has seen over the last few years Utd have given contract extensions to pretty much everybody no matter their level so he probably feels that he could get one pretty easily and yeah from a marketing POV he is in a very strong position which is very important for the owners.

Some have argued that Ole broke him by playing him no matter how ****ed he was and deserves a chance under a gun manager, but his form has been so bad this season , I am skeptical.

Premier league wise, Newcastle would snap him up , maybe he could go to Spurs ? Not sure who else makes sense.

Based on the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half, the Premier League win record is up for grabs here if Spurs want it.
Haven't seen the game, but on the scoreline, there's a big risk of relegation for Everton. Any reason why Hojbjerg seems to have scored 2.5 (the worst score on both teams) on the take-with-a-pinch-of-salt scores that players get on the BBC? Early injury?

Liverpool this season remind me a lot of late-period Fergie's United or the Real Madrid teams that won their most recent CLs. They seem to winning a lot of games by muscle memory despite not actually being particularly good.

Abramovich sanctioned, Chelsea now banned from selling tickets so only allowed season ticket holders at games & club shop has to close. If I've understood it correctly (and it's entirely possible I haven't) they wouldn't even be allowed to sell food and drink at games. Presumably this means no away fans either?

I mean surely the government basically has to take over the club directly at this point and put it up for open tender? From a public interest pov you can't have this limbo state lasting for very long

For once I think your understanding of something is correct

BBC reporting that ticket sales etc. are prohibited.

Dunno really, looks like a situation of utter turmoil.

Under the licence Chelsea have been given to continue operating, sale/transfer of ownership of the club is apparently prohibited. I guess if the thrust of the whole move is to disallow Abramovich from making any profit from his ownership of the club this makes sense (i.e. because selling would = profit). For the govt to cave in and allow a sale or whatever would make them look weak, so I dunno how much of a prospect there is of them going for that.

I guess eventually the ban on selling will be lifted, but in the meantime, as the accumulation of basically any income that isn't already guaranteed/agreed (e.g. TV rights and season tickets) is apparently banned, you'd have to think that would have some serious long term consequences on the attractiveness of the club to potential buyers, as even if this situation lasts only a short term it will still amount to a **** load of money being lost.

I hope we’ve received our share of the FA Cup proceeds. In fact they should be booted out and we play off with Luton for a place in the quarters. :tooth:
